Question about campaign difficulty and custom realism

recall how in SH4 we'd start a campaign in the office and youd have to go in and customize your realism settings for that campaign? ie. manual TDC ect...

even though i have my realism settings set up to my liking in the SH5 main menu screen, i started a career on 'medium' and cant figure out what realism settings im operating under... my own, or those applied generically because i set it to medium difficulty?

i ask because to be honest, i cant tell which TDC it has me using?!
