Default I don't understand...

In the past few weeks I've read posts about SubSim members having difficulties with the full GWX3.0.exe on BtS-Mods.com and the MD5 being invalid.

After 590GB transferred in January alone I'm wondering if the issue is just with a few users or is there just not a whole lot of people reporting trouble with that file?

Just curious that's all.

Can't answer to that, but...Jacksonville? Are we talking Mayport? If so that was my homeport on the old DD938. I always find it amazing when our little sections of life come into contact. I can't remember the name of the little sub shop, just off base, but is it still there? Delivered hot subs to the piers.

OK...that was completely OT but...SWC appears to be in my old stomping grounds.

Hi Russ

Was just as curious myself so I d/l from your server only to find the file was 100% a ok. (checked the MD5 hash).

I must admit it was my second attempt because on my first your server went down before my d/l had reached 50MB LOL

The only explanation I can think of is:

I d/l in one complete operation (start to finish).

It may be possible that some who use a download manager and grab the file in a few separate stages may be experiencing a loss of a few 'packets'.

If this is in fact the case then the fault lies with the downloasd manager and not the bts server.

Yesterday I tried to load the file for the ninth time [in hope this was corrected in the meantime] and got again the same wrong hash sum: ee96ed51e0082bd920e27e416c0aff30 --> Installation impossible.

Don't know what's going on...

Cheers,
SquareSteelBar

P.s.: loaded in many different ways: different PCs/connections, diff. Browsers, with/without diff. DL managers...always the same result.

If you want to PM me your address I'll be more than happy to post you a single file install burned to disc.

Well if everything goes according to plan the next carrier I go out to sea on will be either the Bush or some other CVN in Mayport, it's about a 45 minute drive north from where I'm at now (Middleburg) and I'm stationed on NAS Jacksonville - haven't been on NS Mayport yet but I hear they've got some decent fishing out by the jetties

Thanks for checking Jim, I was getting curious about all the stuff I was reading time and time again!

No prob Russ....the file on your server is fine as far as I'm concerned.

It's just a pity some folk are experiencing difficulties.

Pleased to read the princess is on the up and up

Hi jimmy,

many thanks for this kind offer but it's not really that important...
Got already the splitted installer.

It is only for archiving purposes - to complete the picture, if you know what I mean...

The weird thing is that many people are able to load it correctly but other are not; and they get always the same wrong md5 sum...

Thanks,
SquareSteelBar

Didn't download GWX from your site but I'm glad to hear that your daughter is over her bout with jaundice.

She's over it alright, but she has learned to fuss and whimper every evening when I'm on the computer and not holding her Spoiled rotten! LOL Oh well, I do it anyways cause I know one day she won't always be like that.

Just wanted to confirm that assessment. That's where I got mine, as I wanted the single download version. I loaded it onto my flash drive at the local library, then transfered it to my computer. Loaded right up, and I've been running it ever since with no problems, and with a bunch of third-party mods.

I have down loaded 10 times.
Everyone of those not only check with the MD5,
but install fine and pass
file verification tests compaired to the original
files.

Unkonown to anyone but me,
there are keys coded into this file that allow me
to insure beyond a shadow of a doubt
if it is a good file.

Each and every test has passed ALL my specs.

I have contacted some people I know and can say this.
Some Service Providers get 'Upset'
with large down Loads.
And drop Packets by design.

The very fact that several people report the same 'wrong'
MD5 makes me wonder.

Who are your providers, time of download start,
State or Nation, Etc,..........
