Guys, I want a verification that I have understood this right:
1. If I play SH3 in WINDOWED mode on a 19'' wide screen, I will get an almost 17''-4/3 display with black bordes left and right right? 2. If I have changed the screen resolution to 1360x1024 this will be kept in WINDOWED mode right? 3. Also to enable WINDOWED mode I have to do this to Main.cfg file: [VIDEO] Resolution=1024 x 800 DynamicShadows=No FullScreen=Yes ----> change to No Synchronized=No ParticleDensity=100 TextureResolutionHigh=Yes Right? Thank you so much!

However, you *can* change the resolution of the fullscreen modus. If you have a widescreen panel, you will probably rather have two black borders on the sides, because if the game is scaled to a 16:9 otr 16:10 ratio then circles will not be circles anymore but ellipses (which is bad for navigation). How to change the resolution in fullsccreen is described in another thread, use the search function.

Right now I have a 17'' CRT and I am running at 1360x1024 (by the res fix) and the graphics are perfect.
I want to buy a new 19'' monitor (defenetly it will be wide) and I want to play SH3 in 4/3 graphics ratio with no stretching, in spite of the black borders in don't care. What do I have to do then??

That's no problem. I have a widescreen with 1920x1480 and I run SH3 at 1600x1200 fullscreen with no problems. (I probably could run it in 1800x1350, which would also be 4:3, I have to try that).
To do that, you either have to use the graphic card settings to force any application changing resolution to keep the aspect ration (better 3d cards have that). Also the monitor might have a hardware setting for that (via the menu).

Hmm, intresting
Yet, I have not seen a hardware setting like that on a TFT/LCD screen. Excuse me for my ignorance, but what exactly the windowed mode offers then?

Some TFT widescreen panels have the option to force 4:3 ratio.
The windowed mode just offers a 1024x768 resolution version of the game which is displayed in a normal Windows window. I don't like it much, because lines are flickering/vanishing (nav lines on map screen). But I use it during work for my TCx1 patrol ![]()

Thank you for all these!
So I will try to find a 19'' wide screen with such a setting together with rest. My SAPHIRE 4850 and the catalyst don't seem to have such a setting.
