And does anyone have the path for SH4?
Is it
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunter4
?
I don't have it installed.
But I have the 4 Gig patch ready to build for SH4.exe

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific

That's for XP. For Vista or 7 I can't help.

Thank you Steve.
There's a browse button for installs to other folders.
That's for multi installs, and Vista, Windows 7 installs.

SH4 version 1.5 patch is here:

And now the idiot's question ...

I know WinXP (32bit) will not see 4GB or more of RAM, even if I have them installed, but ... using this patch wil the game benefit from those 4GB or more??? Or is it still limited to what Windows XP can see & use???

@Hitman

The original 4gb patch only addressed 64 bit systems. Not sure about privateer's version. It not so much makes the OS see all your installed ram, rather it makes the .exe use more than it normally would (can't remember how much that is sorry), hope this answers your question.

EDIT: I actually found some quite useful info about this and the 3 GB patch some time back, read my post here;

Best regards.

The 4 Gig versions I did addresses the
'Can We host it at SubSim'
issue.
Since they target the SH3.exe files?
I'd say We are safe.
The way it's done is so old school that who could complain?
The only reason I didn't do this before is that I never had more then 2 Gig!
I am known as one to not explain things to a great extent.
So Thanks to Fubar2Niner for helping you Guys out.

Okay I just installed SH3v1.4 + GWX3 on my rig again since updating to Win7 64-bit. If I'm understanding how this 4GB patch works, I just run the appropriate .exe file from the download, and point it to the game folder with the .exe I want to patch, and it does everything? Cuz that's what I did.

I'm just wondering if there's any way to tell (by looking at the game files) whether or not it "took" - does it create a backup of the original sh3.exe file and store it somewhere?

It does not make a backup.
You should already have a clean backup of SH3 anyway, right?
