Default The first save game crash since the summer of 2011

I've been celebrating now and then on the fact that I haven't got any save game crashes after changing file attributes and indexing.

Well guess what... I did have a crash right now. I was running surfaced 7-9 kilometers from the front guard of a large convoy, wind speed 0 m/s. I know it's a big no-no saving while close to other ships, but as I've had no crashes for a year (except two or three after changing mods mid-patrol - I know, another big no-no) no matter what the circumstances are I've become careless. I had two saves made on this patrol. I reloaded the first save now. The convoy is 167 kilometers from me and loading the game took at least 30 minutes. The memory load of the save game must have been quite something as I now have Merchant Fleet Mod and zigzagging ships modded in as well.

There's no need for help here, I just thought I'd let you know. I would be curious though if someone knows if convoy HX58 is modded in in GWX. I found this convoy I'm now stalking after I went patrolling a grid that was mentioned in a radio message as a suspected future location of HX58. I know the messages are just for fun, but I thought that it would be cool to act like the message was for real.

I guess SH4 and SH5 have better save games and more realistic weather, better maps. I wonder if it would be time to give those games and their mods a try

Sorry about all this rambling. I better get on approaching the convoy again...

My expierence with SH5:
If you using extensively save files during a SH5 mission then the weather bug comes into effect, means the rest of your mission is medium fog, visibily 1-2 km, not changing sea-state, not changing wind-direction etc.
A mission which lasts only 3 - 6 save-files is uncomplicated.
