Welcome to SubSim mike328453!
 I personally prefer IXC, for the reason that it has good reach, more eels, powerful deck gun, stable in rough weather, there is a link here to read more about what others think of various submarines, in the Games,but at the end of the war, I can imagine that switching to a XXI or a similar.http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=184548
