Default [REQ] Tone heavy cruiser conversion

Can someone convert the IJN Tone from SH3 to SH4? It was created off the Takao from SH4 so the damage model is there, all that needs to be converted are some textures and wakes.

Strange that they used Takao for this- as Tater correctly pointed out when it was released, the Takaos had a very distinctive superstructure, unique to their class. It would have made more sense to use the Mogami for the conversion as this superstructure more closely resembles the Tone.

As I recall I DLed it and it didn't look like Tone at all to me.

Didn't it just add a turret? Modifying the superstructure wouldn't be enough, removing it would pretty much be required.

Screenie?

The only part of Takao that looks like Tone is the superimposed B turret.

Two stacks? Wrong (guess the aft one could be deleted easily though). Slab-sided bridge, which is definitive from most angles at long ranges? Not even close. Sorry, but Takao is a poor choice, IMO. The only other useful feature of Takao for this is the flush deck forward to try and to the ABCD turret arrangement.

Really, she looks a lot like the SH4 (late war) Mogami with the seaplane deck aft truncated past the TT mount aft aside from that. IMHO.

Sorry, I realized that that tone mod didn't change the rec manual (_sil.tga) fiel at all. I'm not on my SH4 machine (which is not hooked up right now), so I can't load it. I did a long time ago, though. Shoulda taken shots.

Woo, the Tone is one of my favourite ships, Would love to see it in SH4

There are actually 3 versions of the Mogami, You have the original armed with 15x 6.1" Guns in Triple Turrets, Then the 1939 refit that removed the 6.1" Guns are refitted them with 10x 8" Guns in Dual Turrets, then the 1942 Carrier Conversion (I believe Suzuya and Kumano we're not converted though)

If you can do lightmaps it will be totally cool
Any possibility that you'd happen to know how to go about creating those? :hmm:

For the purposes of SH4 we can nix the 6.1" version since they were all rearmed with 8" guns before hostilies commenced. Though I guess if people really wanted it it would be just a few quick changes to the .eqp file.
