[WIP] GWX 2.1 Mission Orders

Are you sick and tired of being on the fringes of WW2.

Do you want to know what the Allies are doing to try and defeat the Fatherland?

Do you want BdU to stop sending you to random grids and start ordering you to assist in the major campaigns in WW2?

You need GWX 2.1 Mission Orders.

138 messages will be added to your GWX 2.1 messages folder and during the course of the war you will be ordered to assist in operations such as WESERUBUNG (the German invasion of Norway), the destruction of naval forces attempting to withdraw from Dunkirk, assisting the Bismarck and destroying the Allies as they try to land at Normandy and Sicily.

47 historical operations from GWX 2.1 are supported by this mod, which will be ready for release in English, German and French before 1 May.

Some examples:
10 Apr 1940, from OKM to your U-boat:
UNTERNEHMEN WESERUBUNG:
British submarines believed to be operating off Kristiansand, Norway GR AN36.

11 Jun 1942, from OKM to your U-boat:
Allied convoy reported leaving Gibraltar, destination believed to be Malta. Escorts believed to include aircraft carriers and battleship.
Units in Mediterranean theatre are to move to intercept convoy, Luftwaffe available for direct support.

17 Apr 1945, Radio Intercept:
Have torpedoed and sunk medium German transport ship (est. 5500 GRT) at 1945/04/16/2252

17 Apr 1945, From M-256 to OKM:
UNTERNEHMEN HANNIBAL:
Goya has been sunk at exit of Danziger Bay. Am rescuing survivors with M-328.


The messages take their timings and information from RL events which are written into the GWX campaign. The mod doesn't take information from the game engine and will therefore not give you precise times and info as scripted into GWX 2.1 but, if you're in the right part of the world, it should allow you to get in place to take part in the action and keep you informed of major naval operations across the globe.

I'm in close PM contact with danurve and our mods will be 100% compatible.

There will not be a single release as my mod is solely for GWX 2.1 whereas his is for any version - GWX, NYGM, War Ace, or even Stock players. Given the fact that he now has over 11000 messages, it's easier to add my messages to his mod so there will be a very simple 5 step guide to adding my messages to his.

Update 29 Apr 2008:
We're finally into the last stages of testing!
All of the new messages have been translated and merged into the original GWX 2.1 messages, we're just putting on the finishing touches before going on general release.

The GWX 2.1 Mission Orders Mod is still looking good for 1 May release date, and the team are looking forward to sharing our mod with you.
