Default How do I change German labels back to English in "Supplement to V16B1 (JSGME)" Mod?

Hello,

Thanks to all of you who have over the past 15 years made so much content for SH3. It's making the game incredible.

I have the STEAM version and have managed to get it up and running in 1920 x 1080 resolution and have been using the following patches in the order displayed below:

ARB WideGui 1920x1080
ARB WideGui Fix
GWX - Axis Mediterranean Aircraft Skins
GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects
GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX - Merged Campaign
GWX - VIIC41 Player Sub
M.E.P v6
M.E.P v6- VisualSensors for GWX3
Supplement to V16B1 (JSGME)
Thomsen's Sound Pack V3.2cg
Rapt0r's Uniforms V2.0 [Black - All Leather] Patch
Rubini´s Underwater dust&plancton v1_no blur
Sh3_volumetric_clouds&fog_V2.2

My GUI and other screens have German labels and I have determined this is due to the mod "Supplement to V16B1 (JSGME)". Can anyone tell me how to change all of those labels back to English?

Thanks very much!

Nothing in the Supplement should be doing that. More likely you need to check your options setting in the game itself.

Hmmmm.

As soon as I enable the mod the German labels come back. Disabling it reverts them to English. I've done it a half dozen times.

?

Thanks!

When you install the supplement you have to edit the files that contain those labels. Check them out, perhaps you inverted their names or something like that.

Also, if you put ARB last in your load order you will probably fix your problem ( I don't remember if ARB contained those files and I don't have access to them now). However, I would still try to find out what happened or it could have other problems.

The only text files in the supplement are for console messages. Something else is going on I believe. I bet diego_gut's advice re ARB would be it.
Also fwiw, if I'm not mistaken, the GWX VIIC41 and Late war snorkel mods shouldn't be installed until they're to be used in the game.
I.e., the snorkel sensors not until you have a snorkel.

Okay, I managed to figure out what the issue was and where it came from.

The issue was located in the en_menu file included with the Thomsen Sound pack mod. I think I used that as a starting file for the additional text that the V16B1 Supplement mod adds. So that's why in my case enabling the supplement caused the issue. But the issue actually came from the sound pack mod.

In Thomsen's Sound Pack mod, the en-menu file contains:

245=Brücke
246=Sonar|Funk
247=Zentrale
248=Diesel
249=E-Maschinen
250=Bugtorpedo
251=Bugraum

That may not be all the German - who knows!

Thanks for the ideas on how to solve!

Ah, I'm not familiar with that mod. Glad you got it sorted out.

The Thomsen sound pack adds quite a lot of great sounds. I like it.
