Default Virtual Sailor!?

I visited here for Dangerous Waters but didn't realise there was a hint of VS here too - I'm wondering if there's any sort of possibility for me to partake in multiplayer cruises, random maritime madness, etc

VS could be a good multiplayer WWII/modern naval game if Ilan could be persuaded to add some WWII era weapons tech (radar/sonar/main battery/AA guns/torps) to the game. Perhaps if enough of us requested it as an addon....

This gives a foretaste of the possibilities.

Hi (hey Spook )

Ilan will no longer continue the development of Virtual Sailor. VSF (Vehicle Simulator) is the new simulator from Ilan.

Vehicles in Virtual Sailor are Microsoft X files. It is simple to convert vehicles for VS, if the original model file are present.

it's actually pretty involved to convert a SH ship into VS, you have to use silent editor and reverse engineer it from a bunch of broken pieces, and then you have to rescale them because the scales are really off from the two games, then you have to do all the conversions back to VS x files

but it can be done

yes, you need Silent 3ditor, that pic I posted above IS a sh4/5 sub I converted, it's really involved tho because SH breaks the model into several pieces, you need to convert the pieces into something your 3d software can use then reassemble it and then resize it to VS measurements.

heres a FoxTrot I converted (and added a little to)

chrysanthos, it's a very involved process. Open your Silent 3ditor and start looking for the 3d files, then save them as an obj file then open them in your 3d program and start re-assembling them and resize the entire ship to VS standards.
