TMO: What can kill you in the Sunda Strait?
Something just blew me out of the water in the Sunda Strait, between Java and Sumatra.
TMO/RSRDC, July '42 --- Was passing at standard speed on the surface to the NW of the small island that bisects the strait at about 2200 hours when all hell broke loose. Had just completed a sonar check prior to entering, and it was clean. Too late for airplanes. Mine? Coastal gun? Submarine????? Any similar experiences? I guess it's dangerous to travel on the surface that close to shore....
