Sudden Single Missions CTD's....

I have 47 missions in my Single Missions game folder. I have been playing them all with no problems over the last several months. Then, out of the blue, I started getting CTD's on about 4-5 of them. Nearly all the ones affected are from Tambor's Single Missions Pack, and they all involve a convoy that is being tracked along a certain route, and your sub is on an intersecting course. As the square convoy symbol reaches the point where my sub's radar should detect it....Boom, a CTD! I didn't change anything in the game files, or any changes to my computer, so I am stumped as to what suddenly caused this. Manila Bound, Northern Run, and Ambon Supplies are just a couple that are doing this....Anyone else had this happen?...and if so, is there a fix?

Well, after exhausting all attempts to fix the above problem, I finally resorted to completely erasing SH4 from my computer, and reinstalled it. I saved all my mods in another folder, then reinstalled them after the 1.4 patch. Everything is working fine, again. I wish I could warn you guys about what the problem was, but I still have no idea. I wasn't fiddle farting around with the game files, or my computer....it was just one moment, everything is fine...then out of nowhere...CTD's. Maybe a malware or a virus? I don't know, that's the frustrating part about this whole episode...

Anyway, now for some GOOD news. Prior to reinstalling SH4, Windows sent me an offer to upgrade to Windows 10, which I did. SH4 installed with no problem, and so did my mods...no issues at all. Now, granted, I do have a CyberpowerPC with uber amounts of RAM, and a processer on steroids, but what I found was my graphics are now awesome! So, if you have a system that can handle it, Windows 10 is great!

Oh yea, and if I DO find out what caused the CTD's...I'll let you guys know immediately....(right after my forehead heals from beating it against the wall for the last 24 hours.)

well if the missions contain ships not in the stock game such as missions created for TMO or RFB then it cant find that ship and it will CTD on you.

like wise, if the mission was designed for v1.4 game then only when certain ships are called to spawn they don't have the correct files for the game to find them so you get the CTD
