That's the way the tubes are in the OM mod. As for the sonar, are you submerged and doing about Ahead 1/3 and not able see sonar lines on the Navigation Chart? If you are surfaced, you generally won't see the Sonar lines. I do not remember how OM modeled them, but the listening heads are on the top surface of a lot of boats, so they have to be submerged to "hear". A lower speed is best so that the water rushing by while moving doesn't interfere.
