Description
thought id release this to my fellow kaleuns here on this forum in case anyone would be interested in it.

after months of continually taking and taking from the excellent modders out there...i began to think of giving something...no matter how small...back to the community.
now, im no computer whizz so this is just a wee update.

i had a thought after d/l Danurves excellent message mod. and also Wereford-browns....that these gave excellent immersion when in your
carreer. as immersion is the name of the game..i got to thinking about messages of u-boats meeting their fate.

u-boats at sea DID intercept the distressing last messages from other u-boats in trouble. giving mutch alarm and anger to the crews that recieved them.

well this mod gives us these messages.

now during your campaign...you will "intercept" messages from doomed u-boats under attack etc...and gives us the impotus to attack the enemy with more vigour!!!!

the messages will be short and to the point...as commanders obviously had little time to fire off messages while being attacked.
during my research...i found that these messages were pretty similar and ominous!!!

i started researching the dates and u-boat numbers that lost their lives during the war and found to my astonishment that Danurves
"new messages only" file that came with his mod had most of the correct dates and u-boat numbers there already!!! truly painstaking and dedicated work from him again!!.

i asked Danurve if he would let me modify his amazing work and he kindly accepted.

the dates and numbers of boats sunk are historically accurate as best as i can get them... the reasons for the sinkings are as close as accurate as i could get them too.

obviously many boats simply never returned to port. for this ive had to use my imagination and sent a report to your boat from bdu explaining the loss!!!.

TO INSTALL:

d/l from filefront to any location on your p.c.

simply open the file....select all..and copy.

go to your sh3 directory...c/prog files/ubisoft/sh3/data/campaigns/campaign....and open the messages_en file.

i suggest making a backup of this original file incase this isnt to your liking.

now paste my mod into this file.. and this should enable the update. i suggest scrolling to the last line in this file then pasting..
this makes removing the update easy if its not to your liking.

IMPORTANT!!!!: these messages conflict with some current message files.

Have a look at the current file your using and if you already have the original "we regret to have to inform you....." files installed...these have to be removed. A simple text editor should
remove them easily.

My message_en. file had them at the bottom of the file. i simply deleted them as they were all together anyway!!. hopefully its the same for you!! .

the messages are transmitted once...not continually.....so getting bumped out of t/c shouldnt be a problem. besides you'll be in port for a
lot of them!!!

i hope this small update will be of use to the community.

credit goes out to Danurve...who without his painstaking work my fingeres would have dropped off!!! His permission was greatly recieved!! .
many thanks to you my friend for allowing me to mod your excellent work.

to wreford-brown for his support and feedback and patience, at a time of upheaval for him!! i cant help feeling ive taken up hours of his life!! respect bro!!

his advice and eagle eye means this file is twice as good as the one that i originaly proposed to release......appreciated mate.

to all the modders who iv'e fed off for months...you have made this game great.

its only in english...sorry my German isnt good. Anyone ....feel free to translate and release!!

IMPORTANT: if you find any problems or have any critisism please post on the forum or pm me.
this is my first go so there might be a few hiccups!!!

i can always fix anything you guys dont like.

cheers
