The present mod destabilizes the 4"/50 deck gun and its zoomed sights, so now it acts as it should be in real life. Combined with more accurate and powerfull DDs and armed merchants, it will be risky and sometimes suicidal to engage in a gun duel with those units.
This mod is not presently working with other guns because there seems to be some problems related to the gun elevation and the cameras. Im still working on it, and I hope it will be fixed in future releases.
For those wishing to modify the files by themselves, here is a list of the modified values in each file:
In Deck_Gun_4_50.cam
Modified: Elevation Speed from 5 to 0.1
Modified: Traverse speed from 35 to 25 (the gun was turning a little too fast for me)
In Cameras.dat
(Added missing parameter in minitweaker file "Cameras_dat.txt")
Added line in "DeckGunZoom" category: absolute,single,5398,lookathorizon
Modified: set value to 0
Since the 4" is available for all subs and all campaign years, I´ve deleted the 3" and 5" gun files until I find a fix.
I provided two sets regarding ROF: "unreal 4s" stock and tweaked 25s reloading times. The ROF issue will be discussed in the REL thread, and will be modified in the mod in future releases as we see fit. For those not liking those values, you only have to open the gun tweak file and mod it for yourselves.
This mod DOES NOT modify shells effectiveness in any way. That is another story.
