Hi all,

Have been playing this game for a few days now, and it is like the old craptastic days of subsims all over again.
Overall a enjoyable game, however, it suffers from the same bugs of the SH series.
What happens to me is that in a long scenario, the game controls become unresponsive. Typically this happens in a long scenario, like insertion in Murmansk or similar.
Back in SH days, you could save in scenario, to offset the problem. However, for me, this makes the campaign unplayable.
So can this be remedied by a option to save in scenario ?

Without a doubt, the problem is your system, not this game, not even SH5. And I hate SH5.

Think you are wrong there. For me the issue is a exact replica of what used to happen in SH. It is called memory leak and used to occur a lot in the olden days of computer games.

Nothing at all to do with old or new games.

If both games would be infamous for causing said leak - everybody would experience it, logically.
However, it seems to be only you with this exact problem - with two completely different titles.

One doesn't have to be Sherlock Holmes to connect these dots.

Do you by chance run with the signature window open all the time?

This is the only known memory leak to date and was fixed in one of the very first patches.

Hi Julhelm and thanks for taking the time to reply.

I think the issue revolves around time compression. Say, when you are close to land, and there are a lot of things to render. When you compress time there are a lot of skipped frames and corruption of data.
The issue is really that a "sneak into" mission, takes a long time to finish. If you can only play for a short time you compress a lot.
So its rather how the game is used. If i have to set aside 2 hours for a mission, i simply cannot play that much.
Games like WOWS are brill by the fact that you know that you can play for 15 minutes and then close. In scenario save gives you some of that.

Pegon, what are your system specs, version of Windows etc?
It seems suspicious that you are having the same issue with 2 different, unrelated games.

I have a msi gaming notebook with a 1070 card in it, win 10. When i said i had the same problems in SH4, it was 10 years ago on a different computer ;)

A GT62vr 6 or 7 I would assume? These are normally not prone to throttling, but I would check the temps anyways, just in case.

Its called a GE72, presumably because it has a German keyboard. And yes, it gets terribly hot so maybe thatīs it. Will reduce most gfx settings and see if it helps.

Are you running with vsync off? Turn that option on if so.

regardless of the cause of the issue, we still need a manual save option. I have tried over and over to get to the end of the 84 campaign, only to see bugs and glitches stop me from playing more then 5-6 missions. A save feature might fix this issue.

There is a manual save feature if you hit escape while on the main map.
