Well, despite my wife's pleas, I went ahead and opened the email from SUBSIM...and read the review of Cold Waters while she was throwing my stuff into the street (metaphorically). I even kept my promise to not buy the game, until she went to work today. That was like, a whole weekend of keeping my promise, so it counts. She checked the PayPal account and saw the purchase, though, so I've got about six hours until she comes home and reads me the riot act over it.

Just enough time to install any mods you fellows recommend for CW, if there are any that you think I really need to add to the vanilla game.

What'ya think, boys? What do I need to install, and where can I get it?

(is rummaging in his attic for the old boxed set of Red Storm Rising, with a plan to claim that CW is just an 'update' to the old game...)

First and foremost I'd recommend MekStark's Reduced Underwater Visibility (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=5231) mod. Invaluable for immersion since Cold Waters' default setting seems way too clear.

Then I've made a couple of tweak mods, optional and perhaps due to become obsolete at some point, once the devs get around to balancing those areas of the game. Try this (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=5243) if you find the campaigns too short to savour, and this one (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=5242) if you feel enemy aircraft are too psychic when it comes to pinpointing the location of your sub.

Besides the Reduced Underwater Visibility mod, ud add the Russian Sub mod as well. It's in the download section.

(On mobile so I can't link it)
