GrimWare Games is pleased to announce it’s first official project, Independent Paranormal Research!

Independent Paranormal Research, (IPR) proudly declares the first of a new genre in the game industry, Paranormal Adventure. In IPR, the player will be introduced to current technology used by many famous and telivised "ghost hunters". This technology includes a Infra-Red Digital Video Camera, Digital Voice Recorders, and Electro-Magnetic Field devices such as the K2.

The first investigation is the player thrown in a tutorial with the lights off, and an interactive guide to help learn the proper use of each piece of equipment. After completing the tutorial, the crew will tour fictional locations around the United States, such as Tannersvile Lighthouse, a haunted library, a boarding school burnt to the ground in an urban city, and a old pristine Southern Plantation.

IPR uses the Unity3d engine and displays stunning graphics that players will be encouraged to take second looks at, as that shadow on the wall might not be there next time you walk by. All sound effects were recorded and finalized creating an eerie feeling as you try to communicate with the paranormal. Advanced programming techniques were used in creating a smart system, which allows the player, upon using the correct equipment in the right situation, to hear, or see things that normally they would have missed.

GrimWare Games is pleased to have you as a visitor, and encourages everyone to share the experience of a birth of a new genre for the game industry, in joining our forums and becoming part of the GrimWare family. It's because of the fans that we're here, producing a top-notch experience, for all those who believe in the Paranormal to Casual gamers who'd like to loose track of time while playing an interactive and fun game.

The game itsself will be in a third person, over the should view. You switch between the equipment like a first person shooter, either by the mouse wheel, or 1,2,3,4,5, etc. Most scenes will be pretty dark, and the only light will be from your flashlight or the backlight of the infra-red camera you are using. Using the camera is a great way to see in the dark.

But be careful! You only have a limited amount of battery life during investigation. That's where strategy comes in between switching equipment. If you can pick up a conversation with an entity, switching from the voice recorder to a camera, you might pick up an orb, entity, or dark mist that normally you would have missed.

Thanks guys,

actually instead of Ghostbusters, like the movies and the new game released, this is more like Ghost Hunters, or Ghost Hunters International. Here's a link to their site so you can see, they're more about proving paranormal things do occur, but use science to debuff most other things.

In an investigation, when they hear strange noises, instead of instantly labelling it a ghost, they try to find something that could explain why that noise is happening. When they can't find anything to explain the noise, it's labelled paranormal. After reviewing the evidence they acquired on the piece of equipment they used, if there's enough substantial evidence, they might call the place haunted..

Really good show and they operate in and out of Europe all the time on the SyFy channel :yeah:

I love the concept, but I think you should use this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1_7tU8kiEc) as the transport instead
