If you want to play a phoon buy Sub Command and download the SCX mods its the only way at the moment.

Read my PM and I you will find out why it isn't going to happen even for $100.

OK... im curious...

this is probolly something different... You can always post:"they wont allow new playable submarines"... but a PM?...

If you want to know he offered me $100 to make a playable Typhoon

Obviously I declined. Not enough zeros on the end.

Same here, I dismissed the offer out of hand. A few extra zeros might have made me think a bit longer about it.

There would be no problem doing that privatly (no distrubution) though, would there? It would take some work, but with DWedit, you could pretty easily copy the typhoon over to a playable. Of course the interface would be wrong, there would be no nukes, and the weapons would be... It isn't really even possible to do it correctly. I think the less legitimite modders may disagree though...

You don't need to mod, just a little bit imagination.
Look you in your room. Take with you food for a month or so. Close the windows. Place a 688i in barrents sea with the editor, imagine you are now a Typhoon. Switch of 3d. Go deep, cruise at slow speed there for a month. Don't come up earlier. Don't use time compression.
Voila - here is your boomer sim. :D

The extremely shocking application - 100 $ for an entertainment!

These people - enemies for SUB community.

It can be had free-of-charge....

And even a lot than one Typhoon can be allowed for driving.

You've gotta wonder what is it about the Typhoon that invokes such wonder and longing in subsim drivers. Is it the fact that its the biggest submarine in the world, or the aft placed sailing that presumes a sleek and powerful feel, or the nuclear armament that can destroy entire countries. Personally, aside from its strategic armament, the fact that the platform is slow, clumsy, and relatively vulnerable to hunters is enough of a disadvantage to disuade it from being a fun boat to drive. Sorta like choosing a blue whale over a great white shark.

but...

*whisphers*. Just switch the typhoon model for the akula's and change the DWEdit stats. You'll have a poor man's, bug-ridden Typhoon with improper armament, but it might be enough to satisfy whatever Typhoon-craving you have.

actually, you could change the weapons also to match up with your typhoon, I made an Ohio mod awhile ago, And imported some SCX models for the ohio and Trident II missles, the nukes didn't home in properlly at all though, but it was still preatty awsome...

what happend, however, is somehow or other, cant remember, my DW got bugged. I re-installed, 4got to patch, and made all the mods... So if I want the Ohio again, Im going to have to re-make the mod... It was like driving a slug though, with an incoming torpedo, I had to use at least 15 CM's...

Too bad u cant change ACTUAL loadouts though, I made a makeshift Ticonderoga VLS, but with only 4 missles and 52 sams... not quiet the same... not to mention all the views were off...

Yes but there is the Alfa Tau mod. Thing is the executable installer requires a password while the .rar package doesn't

Thing is aaken doesn't respond to PM or e-mail to get the password.

Looking at the rar package one there are each unit has its own set of dll files for interefaces etc to get the proper positions.....and I thought he was using the sacrifice method to create the new playables.

Did you mean the installer or the messagaboard the download is on? I was able to register, and download it, and saw no password protection on the executable. (Maybe it's a new build since last year?)
