Where are the Taep'o-dong 2 missles that we can download into our missions, and any other pertinent files?

Also, in answer to ur question, there is no modelled Taepodong 2, as there are no modelled ballistic missiles in case u havent noticed. There also exist no pertinent files, as far as what I can understand.

I wish that in the game there was a generic TEL. Ballistic missiles are an important consideration in naval warfare these days. They make them with a surprising variety of warheads, some of which can be quite dangerous to naval vessels, for example there's a missile with a cluster warhead that scatters submunitions over a wide area. It's not going to sink a ship, but it could seriously mess one up.

Well, there ARE ballistic missiles in the game... SUBROC's follow a ballistic tradjectory.

The doctrine system has more than enough tools for a wide variety of ballistic missiles.

Apart from those, but we are chiefly talking ballistic missiles which are to carry nuclear warheads, like the Taepodong 2.

Ok... if I change the var ApexRng to something huge and change the FireBest command to Detonate in the doctrine, and give it a bigass warhead in the database, you've got your nuke.

Actually, in looking at the doctrine, it's pretty minor changes, at least to get A nuclear missile, although not necessarily one that goes where you want it to... although that's what a nuke is for... within a few miles is good enough.

So, perhaps we can do some ballistic missiles in LWAMI4... I can't really concentrate on anything but the torpedoes right now, but once those are done, it's like the birth of a whole new mod, so many more options become open at that point. :)

Cheers,
David

Oh, its worth pointing out that "nuclear" does not equal "ballistic" and vice versa.

I'm most likely NOT going to put actual on-map nuclear weapons... however, I'm going to seriously look at the options for putting on map ballistic weapons other than subroc in the game and perhaps nuclear weapon *launches* for ICBM's with weapons that actually go "into orbit."

Yes... but I want THEATRE ballistic missiles. Happy now?

I believe that. I guess the one thing missing would be a 3D model of a TEL. It's a shame, really, because they're such wonderful targets for a strike mission...

Good. Nukes are better for Harpoon, and even then they're not so great.

DW was released in North Korea?... or was that a joke?

Well, my point is that the ballistic tradjectory is already coded... it's just not used right now for long range missiles. But any tradjectory under 100000ft should work fine, so that's the longest ranged missile following a ballistic tradjectory you can have in game.
