Guys, I have just created a mission, I save it to my single missions section in the program files, I have checked the file and it is there but not within any of the single game folders. I loaded up the game and went to play it but it is not there. Do I have to create a folder within the single games section and then copy the mission in to that empty folder for it to work ?
Thanks guys.
Bill.

Yes, and the folder must be the exact same name as the mission's name.

There's a good walkthrough for mission creation here-

thanks, I have created a new folder and copied the game to it. I have noticed that all the other single missions 2 files a .mis and media.cfg, but my game has only the .mis. What is the meia.cfg file ? and is it supposed to created when you make the game in the mission editor ?

The media file is not needed at all, it just --->

It ain't needed... it just sets what loading screen to display - and the path of the loading bar...

When i go to validate the mission i get the error:

ERROR: No instance with the name GP1 specified on trigger Carrier exists in mission
ERROR: No instance with the name GP2 specified on trigger Battleship exists in mission

What does this mean?

The GP1 name is for the carrier group i created and GP2 is the name for the Battleship group. They both exist in the mission.

Im trying to make it so if i sink the carrier or battleship I'll get an objective update stating carrier sunk secondary mission complete etc., im doing this in the triggers and events setup.

Theres two triggers named carrier and battleship for the 2nd. Should i instead call it GP1 and GP2? Everything else is fine except this. The mission is single player. This is my first time using the editor. :88)

Thanks to those for creating the help files in this forum on how to lay mines etc., Good stuff.

Ahh i think i got it! I set it up wrong, I never set a Objective Name - Sink Carrier and Objective State - Complete. I just did this and then validated mission and got no errors.

Next Question:
How do i make my sub objective to return to a different base. Leave from Lorient but return to Le Spezia. Would i have to make Primary Objective return to Le Spezia? Is this possible.

Thanks. I just had that same problem today.

Just right click around La Spezia and create a map zone. Then set an objective to reach the map zone. When reached, the objective will automatically be marked as completed.

I have been working on a mission for about 3 days now, and the only thing left to do is add the player sub, so I followed the directions that were in the "basics" tutorial that was linked in another post, and when i run the check it still says there is no player sub. Just wondering if anyone can help me out.

Go the properties of the sub, and you'll see a check box that says human control... check it. ;)

Look in your "Program Files" folder on your hard drive, then "Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII", and you should find a file called "Sh3MissionEditor.exe". Launch that, and you're ready to go. :up:

To stop the notepad informing you that you went over a ship, the English.cfg (and German etc) was edited to remove the ship class names, so for example, Type0=Patrol Craft was changed to Type0=-

This causes the Mission Editor to not have the 'generic Ship Class' option for use in the random group selection.

So instead of having a Generic Battleship, Generic Fleet Carrier, Generic Destroyer, Generic Cruiser and so on, you will only get a single entry Generic.

Images....
With Generic Ship Class - http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/7729/image18qc.jpg
Without Generic Ship Class - http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image28iz.jpg

So for editing, just have a copy of the file, drop it in when you are editing and drop the other one back when playing.

In this file, this...
;Warships
Type0=Patrol Craft
Type1=Corvette
Type2=Frigate
Type3=Destroyer Escort
Type4=Destroyer
Type5=Minesweeper
Type6=Light Cruiser
Type7=Heavy Cruiser
Type8=Escort Carrier
Type9=Fleet Carrier
Type10=Battlecruiser
Type11=Battleship
Type12=Minelayer
Type13=Auxiliary Cruiser

Has been changed to this
;Warships
Type0=-
Type1=-
Type2=-
Type3=-
Type4=-
Type5=-
Type6=-
Type7=-
Type8=-
Type9=-
Type10=-
Type11=-

When I Play The Game Those Italy Ship's Show Up??? WTK ~ AGAIN A NEW Mission Map Means A NEW Map ~BUT~ These ubi Programs DO NOT Understand What The Word NEW Means

The campaign is fully active even in single player missions. It´s a feature that we have to live with. The only thing you can do about it is to remove all units from the random and scripted campaign layer.

TAY999
06-08-06, 10:57 AM
dont do that!!!! "removing units from random and scripted layer" I did it, then found on multi player games that as my scripted and random layers did not match other players, my game kept crashing, so had to uninstall and re-install to start playing multi missions again, I'm not 100% sure this is what caused the problem, but pretty sure.

I would suggest looking at the random layer map, then create a new mission where there is no random shipping present.

I have created a mission but getting some strange effects

1. Ships and planes appearing where I havent put any
2. Hydrophone/sonar not functioning when mission initializes

You can clearly see below that there is a ship where I have not put one
and it happens at start of the mission.

The campaign is fully active even when you play single player missions. Every ship, aircraft and land object is there.

Why the hydrophone doesn´t work I don´t know.

Hi UST,

can remember that there were issues with modded AI Uboats and hydrophone/gauges.
Do you use AI Uboat mods?
Do the gauges work properly? Or are they all on 12 o'clock position?

This seems like AI_Uboats are in the environment of player's sub. Load the 'Campaign_SCR.mis' into MissionEditor, zoom in your Single mission scenario location and look for them. I'm sure you have mods in use which include AI_Uboats.
If they are created by Sergbuto, download the latest versions and replace the faulty subs. I think he fixed these sonar/gauges issues recently.

But what is funner and keeps you on your toes is trying to crawl into a harbor and sink key ships and make it out...this becomes frustrating when hearing the guitar riffs and knowing something aint right. Then I have to fly around and find just why this happened...open seas maps kewel...harbor raids...very kewel..We have made over 15 maps between us but time spent making mods once this happens becomes tiresome and not that much fun.

Pick a harbour thats empty - use the scr in mission ed to show them - or add a port yourself so you know its empty

Change the location number to the next on the list in Locations.cfg

Even though you've placed the unit, you may not have made it a PLAYER unit.

To do this, select the unit icon. Then right click and select "Properties".

When you get the window with the units properties, look for a little check box labelled "Human Controlled" or something like that, and then check it.

Then close the properties window (click "Accept") and try re-validating your mission again.

Your mission will have a start date. You can find this by going to the "Mission-->Parameters" menu. This is the date/time when the mission starts.

The IXC has an entry date. This is the date at which this class of U-Boat was introduced into service. You can find this by clicking on the unit to highlight it, then right click and select properties. Look for "entry date", about half way down.

You can change the entry date within certain limits. Otherwise you will need to alter the date in which your mission occurs.

I hope that helps! ;)

The entry dates are wrong the none appearing ships appear after the
scenario date instead of before. or the "group" date is wrong
Properties for ships and groups are found by right clicking the units
or gruops leader when Highlighted in ME. or the scenario settings
are up top under mission properties.

Hi guys, I keep encountering a very annoying mission editor crash when I arrange my unit group consisting of more than 3 units. Whenever I try to arrange my group with at least 3 ships it crashes automatically. I've tried seperate columbs for each ship (3 Formation Columbs, at 300, 500 meters.) Nothing seems to work.

The group I'm trying to create needs to consist of the following:
(2) Cruisers
(6) Destroyers
(2) Tankers

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I read somewhre that when create groups, can't have more columns than you do ships. If you enter a number that is more than the number of ships you have, the mission editor will throw an exception and crash to desktop, so maybe is your case.

:hmm: Does anyone know if the sea color can be changed to different shades of blue using the mission editor? (Silent Hunter 3)

In the Malta and Mediterranean Sea missions the sea color is an awesome shade of
aqua blue but it only seems to be in Mediterranean Sea missions.
Any ideas if and how I can change the sea color in Mission Editor for missions
in other regions of the world?

I'm using GWX 2.0 but this question may apply to all version of the mission editor.

Sorry, Mate - no way to change the water colour via SH3 Editor.

Search for "Water Color" or similar , or for "Mini Tweaker" to get some info how to manage it.

Where to get your missions?

Hallo. I'm sorry for opening this thread but i it seems that i run into some kind of problem with the Mission Editor and i can't find the solution myself.
So, on my disk D i have 3 SH3 installations which correspond to a GWX3, WAC4 and NYGM3.3 installation. There is also a fourth SH3 installation on my C disk (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII) ; this is a vanilla installation.
I meet no problem when i create a mission, everything goes fine i.e. creation, validation, saving. BUT: When i fire up SH3 and select the mission just before loading it, the game won't let me see the description of the mission which is usually displaced on that virtual white paper signed by a BdU officer. Moreover, the mission won't load. I click on "LOAD" and the game doesn't load the mission. In fact, nothing happens.
The same thing happens for every mission i create with any mission editor installed in any of the 3 SH3 installations on disk D. I once tried to create a mission and load it with the mission editor installed in the vanilla installation but it made no difference.

Any clue?

Any help appreciated.:yep:

Graf Paper

Let's say you've just created a mission for your installation. Double-check these steps:

Make sure you're using the SH3 Mission Editor located inside the folder of the game version for which you're making the mission. This is required because the data for the world map and units (ships, planes, etc.) is loaded from the game installation where you started the Mission Editor. So creating missions for, say, GWX would require loading the ME from that folder.
When saving your mission, make sure the mission name is exactly the same as the folder. For example, you've created a mission named "Convoy Attack". In the SH3 install where you wish to save it, you'll see a folder called "data". Inside there is the folder labeled "MultiMissions". This is where all multiplayer missions are located. Inside that folder you'll see three more folders labeled "English", "French", and "German". Let's say your mission is in the English language. Inside the "English" folder, you'll see a list of other folders bearing the names of missions. Create a new folder here with the same name as your mission and then save your newly created mission inside there. So the folder path would look like this:

Your SH3 Installation
|
data
|
MultiMissions
|
English
|
Convoy Attack (save the Convoy Attack mission inside)
Your mission should load just fine now. :yep:

I usually set up my missions to work with JSGME, so I can keep them seperated from the "stock" missions of standard or modded SH3 installations. It makes it easier to add new missions and also save a backup if I ever need to reinstall my game.

Now go sink some Tommies! :up:

tomfon
09-01-09, 02:48 PM
Thank you Graf Paper. :yep:
It seems that everything is OK with the ME. I created a test mission and fired up my NYGM installation. I'll check the ME in my GWX install too just to make sure.

Cheers!

Hello..

HAve done all the steps in tutorials to create basic missions.. but when i start the mission ,looking for the most simple possible mission ..ie to sink a merchant ship near.problem is that when game start , instead of 1 Uboat for the player.. i get Two. and they are exactly at the same position and heading, looks like a game bug... Dont know how im doing this .. since i only place 1 submarine and 1 merchant ship in world map.. and nothing else. place the dates and parameters and trigers and objectives and events and validate with no problems.

another problem is that i set the dates for merchant and Sub exactly the same.. at same hour.. and use same date/hour for parameters menu.. but when game start.. from 1942 that all was set ..the patrol begins at 1940.. when clearly i have 1942 every where in the game whenever is a start date option.

i save the single missions as . misge extension as the tutorial says .
using the same name as the project file.

any help appreciated

Hi Vann,

it's some time I scripted my last mission, but let's see how far we get.

Open your MIS with SH3 Mission Editor and delete your U-Boot by marking the U-Boot Icon and hitting 'DEL' key.

If you have to do it twice to remove the sub you have created both subs (one over the other) by yourself. I guess you checked the multiplayer checkbox in parameters too.

Now drag and drop your chosen U-Boot type into the desired location and rightclick to open properties. Check the entry dates of the unit provided by the properties screen to match your timeframe.

Set a waypoint and turn your sub accordingly.

Now open Mission in menubar and choose Parameters.

Here you find the settings for Single- or Multiplayer - check the singleplayer box. And you find the start date settings for your mission. Check and change the data accordingly.

Save the mission as normal mission as ???.mis - choose whatever name you want and make sure to insert this MIS into a folder named exactly ???.

Put the ??? folder into the singlemissions folder in the games root directory.

Ingame select the correct U-Boot and timeframe for your mission.

Feel free to ask if something is not clear enough.

Hi.

Maybe you could try this:

Start Notepad.

Add:

ren d3d9.dll d3d9.tmp
sh3missioneditor
ren d3d9.tmp d3d9.dll

Save to SHIII directory.

Rename the new file to "MissionEditor.bat" and send to desktop (shortcut).

Rename the shortcut on desktop to "MissionEditor". You can change the icon in the

properties of the shortcut. Icons in SilentHunterIII/Sh3MissionEditor.exe.

Run the MissionEditor with the shortcut. The small command line window you can

minimze, it will disappear when you close the MissionEditor.

I am also having trouble with Mission Editor, I can open it fine but when I open a file the window where the map should be showing it's just a big black square.

All the commands seem to work, and when I move the cursor over the "map" I can see the coordinates or whatever changing in the bar at the bottom... so it looks like it's doing what it normally does, I just can't see anything.

I've tried this in three different game installations, one without the res fix installed, and I've tried all the suggestions for disabling the res mod .dll in the ones that have the res fix... nothing.

I also downloaded the new version from Jimbuna's FF page, but can't run the .exe, it says I don't have kernell.dll on my computer. :06:

I never had this problem running Mission Editor before, I could disable the res fix .dll and it was all fine, but since I switched to Win7 64-bit I have the problem described above. :wah:

Sorry to learn of this problem but it is usually 'fixeable' and I guarantee it is not the exe in my newer ME pack.

The link below will tell you what the error is and offer a free option to confirm etc.

This link will give you a free solution

Good luck.

Edit...I forgot to mention that ME ver2 is working fine on my W7 64bit system, so it will/should work on yours.

Yeah, I knew you had 64-bit so that didn't seem a likely culprit.

I'll try it to sort it out. I don't go into ME to look at stuff often but when you do want to do that it's a right PITA not to have it working right. :stare: :DL

Edit: Heh, that was easy. I'd downloaded the file onto my backup drive where I keep all downloaded stuff and I was clicking on it trying to run it from there. Once I copied it into one of my game folders (where, uh, 'kernel.dll' is located, duh) it opens fine. BUT the 'map window' is still just a black window, no joy there. :wah:

I dunno, the ME does the same thing in game installations that don't have res fix at all. Even my 'base' installation that has never been modded or played, all I use it for is to copy the folder if I want an additional installation. Is a puzzlement.

Just discovered last night that I can't get screenshots either. Hitting PrintScreen doesn't crash my game, even though I did it about a dozen times sitting right smack in busy Wili harbor. (Last time I tried this with all my mods enabled, it eventually CTDed.) However - when I exited the game, I couldn't find what should have been the newly created .tga files anywhere. Even doublechecked to see what folder I had them directed to, and... nothing. It's like the pictures failed "develop." :O:

I opened PSP and tried to paste the last copied image in there as a new image, and got an image the size of my game area that was just black like what I get in ME now.

So I don't know if it's a memory issue or the same thing that's causing the problem in ME... I may just create another game installation to run at the stock resolution without any tinkering and see what happens.

What resolution are you running the game at and what resolution is your pooter screen set at?

frau kaleun

What resolution are you running the game at and what resolution is your pooter screen set at?

1400x1050, with the Res Fix. That's the most I can get without stretching things out since I don't have a widescreen GUI.

The monitor's native res is 1680x1050 (16:10 I think). Before switching OSes and getting all the new drivers for that, I could just tell the graphics card not to rescale and it ran fine at that res in 4:3, but with the new drivers I've been using another little app to force the desktop res to change only when the game's .exe is running - this allows the options for 'no rescale' with the graphics drivers.

That tweak is the only difference from what I had before. Then all I had to do was disable the d3d9.dll temporarily and ME worked fine. And I had no trouble with screenshots either.

Of course it's not the ONLY difference since I have a buttload of additional mods now.

On the other hand, as I mentioned before, even game installations that don't have the res fix installed give me the same problem with ME - so it's not *just* the res fix. Probably a big 'ol tossed salad of different things that I'll have to sort through one by one.

Jimbuna

Have you tried 1680 x 1050 without the res fix?

frau kaleun
04-28-11, 08:57 AM
Have you tried 1680 x 1050 without the res fix?

I've never altered the native res without the res fix, what file do I edit to do that?

The thing is, though, I don't want to run in full WS without a WS GUI because I really, really, really don't like the way things get stretched out in the 2D screens, particularly the circular dials/compass/etc.

And I suspect it may be the tweak I'm using to force the 4:3 aspect ratio that is the problem, because that's the only difference in the new setup. If I take that out and the problem goes away, then I'm gonna have to figure something else out, probably go with WS display whether I like it or not, because I'm pretty sure I tried everything else to maintain the 4:3 ratio and that was the only thing that worked. :hmmm:

At this point I will probably just create a new game installation and start experimenting with resolution stuff there, maybe look at some of the widescreen stuff that's available. Problem is I don't think any of it was done for a 16:10 display so that may open up another can o' worms to sort out.

You copuld try a quick 20 second test to help in the elimination process by right clicking on your desktop then selecting 'Screen resolution' and trying different settings...it is easily reversible by turning the settings back to what you had originally.

My suspicions are there is a corrupt or missing dll file involved though.

As you know, my PM system is fubard atm so why not PM fubar2niner (just coincidence LOL) and ask him what he has his settings at on his W7 64 bit system?

Well now this is really weird.

I have tried several different things. I turned off GPU scaling in CCC. I reset the res in d3d9.cfg to 1680 x 1050. I changed the res in Main.cfg to the same. I set my monitors (actually a monitor and HDTV) to duplicate desktops rather than extended. I uninstalled the Res Fix. I reinstalled the Res Fix. I changed all the other settings noted above back and forth several times. I removed the "tweak" that forced the desktop to drop to 1400x1050 when SH3.exe is running. I've tried both ME and MEX2. I've tried them both with the Res Fix's d3d9.dll temporarily renamed. I've tried various combinations of the above in four different game installations.

A couple of times I got the ME to open a campaign file and display the map properly, but whatever the set up I had when that happened, I was unable to duplicate the success in a different game install or even in the same game install the next time I tried to open ME there.

Now sometimes I just get the black window with no map again, and sometimes ME crashes and problem details show the faulty module as Simdata.dll... but I might have been trying to open a campaign file from a GWX install with the ME in my Stock game folder, I don't know. I was pretty confused by that point. :doh: :O:

I don't know, I'm starting to think it would just be easier to do a complete reinstall and start from scratch. :damn:

I could swear that after it worked okay in one game folder (the one I test stuff with), I went into my main game folder and made sure everything matched up exactly, didn't change anything with the monitor or GPU or desktop res, and... IT DIDN'T WORK. So I went back to the game folder where it had just worked two minutes before and tried it there again and then it didn't work there either. I'm completely baffled. I even rebooted to clear up as much RAM as possible in case it was a memory issue and that didn't work either... and I think you've got 8 gigs which is 2 more than me, so it's probably not memory anyway.

You know what else is weird?

I went in and started trying to play with different settings for the display again, and now when I choose to extend my desktop across the monitor and the HDTV - which gave me NO problems before - I get all kinds of weird flickering on the monitor (but not the tv screen) when I'm moving stuff around, including the mouse cursor.

If I choose to duplicate the displays I get the weird flickering on the tv screen but not the monitor. I know they have different native resolutions but I could swear I used both setups before with no problems because I've had extended desktop where I watched a DVD that was in the computer's DVD drive on the tv screen while having other stuff up on the computer monitor.

I feel like there's some setting in CCC for the GPU that I'm missing or getting wrong but I keep trying different things and nothing works. :damn:

Did you update the OS lately with automatic updates?

:nope:

Well, I have automatic updates turned on and once things have been downloaded they install at the next shutdown. I so rarely have any problems stemming from that, that I've never really worried about it.

I was having trouble with ME before the last few updates installed - honestly can't remember when I last tried to use it, but it was before Jim posted in here about the newer version of it because I had to keep reminding myself to go download it.

This business with the two displays not wanting to play nice together is something new, though, so I have to wonder what changed. I was in there messing around with all the settings for the past couple of days and today's the first time I get this weird flickering in the displays depending on how I have them configured.

Hmm... just checked for graphics driver updates and something was released on Wednesday. But I didn't think Windows would update that automatically.

I dunno, maybe I should get the newest drivers and give that a try.

frau kaleun
04-29-11, 09:15 PM
Well, what I ended up doing was downloading the newest drivers... then I had second thoughts and went back and downloaded the Win7 64-bit version of the last version of the 9.* Catalyst Control Center suite of drivers/apps etc. Judging by the date it would have been CCC 9.* that I had on my system with XP 32-bit, and I had ME working fine with no problems then, with the Res Fix installed. As long as I renamed the d3d9.dll file while using it, everything displayed perfectly.

So I uninstalled all the CCC stuff from ATI and then uninstalled the gfx card itself in Device Manager, including whatever drivers might still be there. Then rebooted and let Windows find the card and install the default drivers for it, and then installed the older version of CCC and whatever came with it.

Now I have my extended displays back with my monitor as 1 and TV as 2 and ME works fine in the game installs without Res Fix, and fine in the ones with it as long as I run it using that little .bat file described above to rename d3d9.dll for the duration. :yeah:

I don't know what gfx card you have, Jimbuna, but if it's ATI with CCC, you might consider reverting to an older version of that and the drivers and see what happens.

The next test will be to fire up the game and see what happens. I went into the onboard menu for my monitor and set the Image Size to "Auto" because a couple people with the same or similar Samsung models have said that doing that caused the game to run in 4:3 no matter what the gfx software wanted to do as far as rescaling. If it doesn't work I'll either have to try my little Display Changer tweak again or start playing around with widescreen GUIs.

What I got when I put Desktop Graphics, Radeon HD, Radeon HD 5xxx Series PCIe, and Win7 64 bit into the search filters was this page:

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx

Probably the same as for my card, but whatever. That's the newest stuff they have, but if you scroll down there are some links at the bottom including one for Previous Drivers. What I installed was Catalyst 9.12 dated 12/17/2009. I'm pretty sure I had some version of Catalyst 10 before, because I don't think I've upgraded since the first Catalyst 11 release in January 2011. So I reverted to the last release of Catalyst 9 and it works except my screenshots are still borked, but that was a problem I was already having anyway.

Hello.

Today I ran into the black screen issue described by frau kaleun for the first time.

Win 7 64 bit SP1, AMD Catalyst 11.9 (HD5870), i7 860, 8 GB RAM, 1920x1200 (resfix, ME starts via batfile), Windows updates on.

In CCC I use a preset for SHIII with AA and AF enabled.

>> Black screen.

I go to CCC and set to "Defaults".

>> ME works well.

Back in CCC I enable SHIII profile.

>> Black screen.

Maybe it helps.

Regards.

Bumping because I ran into the "black screen" problem again when I reinstalled everything on the new computer. And this was without any tinkering with the game resolution using the available d3d9.dll files that allow resolution tinkering.

What I ended up doing was right-clicking on Sh3MissionEditorX2.exe and going to the Compatibility tab, and selecting the Disable desktop composition option. Windows then disables that feature when I run the ME and re-enables it when I close the program. Opened ME, worked like a charm.

Since I'm now using the widescreen d3d9.dll, I made a .bat file as described upthread by Echolot (and thanks again for that!) to temporarily rename the .dll file when I run ME. Everything still works great, no blackscreen, and the campaign file "maps" display properly.

This is for Windows 7 64-bit.

Hello,

Not sure if you solved this problem, but I just figured this out just now. After doing some searching, make your AA settings to application controlled in CCC.

Even AF too, if you must. But for me, I run an HD 6850 and just changing the AA to application controlled did it for me.

Hello all,

I don't know if this is the correct thread to post my question, and i'm sorry if it was not.

I would like to know if my problem is just a known bug, or if it's just me doing something wrong ... :doh:

So : i have created a mission with my submarine, and also a german airplane. The mission starts on January 1st, 10:30. The airplane appears the same day but at 11:00, 100 km away from my sub. I set : "evolve from entry date". But when i play the mission, the airplane doesn't spawn at all ....... :dead: :wah:

What's wrong ?? :06:

Hi ! Thank you for the replies. :)

@Jimbuna : yes it was 100%.

What Aircraft and what is it's Entry date?
Say your mission is set in 1940 and the entry date for the plane is 1941.
The plane will not spawn.

No, entry date is 1940 in the roster cfg. file, and the mission takes place in 1941. If i just put the plane without setting "evolve from entry date" and setting the entry date in 1940, i can see the plane.

In fact, after several attempts, i can see the airplane with "evolve from entry date", but not always, only 30 % of the time, although spawning parameter is on 100 %. :shifty:

Moreover, i've tried something else : i put a random generated group, with a spawning probability of 100 % every hour, from 5 to 12 o'clock. Well, most of the time, i see nothing. It just worked one single time on all my attempts. That's really odd .... :doh:

Maybe the explanation is that my crew doesn't see it everytime ... even if the plane is just 500 meters high. I need to test more. :hmmm:

Kendras
07-22-16, 06:35 PM
So, I have a huge problem.

I have added an airplane in my Campaign_SCR.mis file. It's spawned on January 5 (1944), at 7:30 (it evolves from entry date). I've created a single mission where my submarine is 230 km far from the spawn of this plane. The mission starts at 7:00 (January 5, 1944), and the airplane should pass right over me at 8:00. But in fact, the airplane never appear when I play the mission even if i wait until 12:00 ! :wah:

What's wrong ???????????

Please, help me ! :-?:(

Kendras
07-23-16, 03:28 AM
Thank you for the links, but it doesn't help me. I don't have any problem with triggers. Just an airplane that doesn't spawn. :-? This is incomprehensible .... :/\\!!

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/picture.php?albumid=1035&pictureid=9040

The mission starts on January 1st, 1944, 12:00. The plane never appears .... :wah:

What's wrong guys ?

itadriver
07-23-16, 06:28 AM
"Validate mission" have you got error messages?

Kendras
07-23-16, 07:30 AM
So, after one hour of intensive tests, here are my discoveries :

I've tested with the mission beginning at 12:11, so one minute after the plane spawns. First test, the airplane appears (at 12:46) ! But not in the following tests... Then, i found that in fact, at time compression x256, the plane always appears, but never appears at TC x512. Then, i found that the plane always appears if TC is less than x512 after 12:33 only, or maybe a bit later (i didn't test all possible time values), but never if TC is equal or superior to x512 after 12:36 (10 minutes before the plane is spotted) even if you lower the TC a few minutes later, as 12:40.

And then, i tested with the mission starting at 12:00 with TC x256, and magically, the plane appeared !!!

Could you re-create this experience on your computer guys ?

Here is the mission, I just don't remember if the Fw 200 is a stock game plane and with type=304 :

Without looking for specific posts I can recall it being highlighted on many occasions over the years.

Hello,

Just to say that the time trigger is not working if it's not the same day as the day of the start of the mission.... That's annoying, 'cause I would like to spawn units, messages and add new objectivs several days after the beginning of the mission ...

Sorry if this has already been discussed elsewhere. Is there a way to correct this ?

:hmmm:
