REFERENCE LIBRARY MOD possible? [concept design included]

Someone asked about this possible(?) mod the other day, and it definitely is something everybody could use in one way or another. :rock:

Why not take an approach that is much easier.

Add new chapters and pages to the ships ID book and/or F1 help screen.

I tried to add a speed, distance time table to the F1 help. While it was possible to make the page and make it clickable I came to a dead end when the text would only support two columns.

Your idea about the recognition manual is interesting...

So far, people have made new slidable and functional compasses and dials. I believe from scratch...

Would it be possible to "clone" the recognition manual and make a reference book to sit on the nav map screen, multiple pages etc. You could have the data entered as text, or "fix the data onto a tga" and have graphic text on each page.

the concept is good, i think it can be got to work, but the people you need to ask if they want to do it, are the guys that do things like the huge clickable compass that came out recently. They seem to know how to get things working like that.

Is anyone actually working on this? I have heard lots of praise given to the concept of the idea, but not to any work in progress. Can I expect any mod to be produced from this idea? If not, I'm not coming back to this thread. :nope: :P

Actually we revived the thread to stir intrest in to have someone modding it. Other threads talked about what was next on list so here ya go, plus as seen here there is a lot of interest. :up:

This is a great idea but I've heard nothing from any of the modders indicating this is in the works. All we can do is hope and keep bumping.

Man, I hope someone is still looking into this - I would so love to see some of this stuff but most of all if this could be used to give us a calendar with moon phases and rise/set times and sunrise/sunset times like we had in either AOTD or SH2 (can't remember which - maybe both?) this would be so AWESOME :rock:

It's always chapped me about SH3 that we lost this great feature from a previous subsim - would so love to get it back.

Creating some new ID Numbers and crack into the game ID Numbers Codes, or we have to take something from the game like
The Recon manual, or another interactive element to use it
and make insted this one work.... :rock:
