Your
mission: to answer submarine trivia with an occasional subsim screenshot. The question could be about a subsim, real
submarine hardware, or historical persons, boats, or events. For references,
consult various subsim player's manuals, war books, Jane's databanks, books, or web
searches. If you think you can answer this sub trivia question, post your answer here. Make sure you include your e-mail address and title the post "Mystery Subsim #99". The time and date of the first correct post determines the winner. Be sure to refresh your browser each time you check this page! RULES: Only ONE answer per episode, please. Post in the Mystery Subsim forum under the designated thread. Revised posts are invalid. Winners will be acknowledged below and entered in the SUBSIM Review Mystery Subsim drawing #2 to be held Dec 21, 2000. The deadline is Dec 21, 2000. After the next 50 entries, I'll take the last two digits of the ending Dow-Jones closing number on 12-21-00. So whatever number your winning entry is, you have two chances. You will hold your entry number and 50 minus your entry number. If you guessed multiple mystery subsims, you have that many chances to win. You get the number of each correct MS plus the sum of that number and -50. That way, say if the Dow-Jones ending number on Dec 21, 2000 as posted on www.CNNfn.com is 11,436, then the number will be 36. The man holding answer #86 would win (86-50=36). If the Dow-Jones were to end on 10,279, then the winner would be 79 . The winner would have 3 days to post on the BBS and claim his prize. Otherwise the drawing would start over on the next business day after the 3 days expire. I like this approach because everyone can see the winner for themselves. Then the drawing would
begin again for the next 50 mystery subsims, sometime around July. |
