Aces of the Deep 64+MB RAM Guide


This guide shall help you to create a boot-disc for running the CD-Version of ACES OF THE DEEP on a WINDOWS 95 PC with 64 MB RAM. It expects ACES OF THE DEEP to be properly installed to C:\DYNAMIX\AODCD. It has been tested successfully on WINDOWS 95B with FAT32 and 64 MB of RAM.

 
 

1.) Start Windows 95

2.) Start the Explorer.

Make sure that you activated: VIEW – OPTIONS - SHOW ALL FILES
Like shown below.


 
 

3.) Insert a formated and empty floppy disc in your A-drive.

4.) Copy the following 12 files from your C:\ drive to the floppy.


 

You will find the files on your C:\ drive at:

C:\ (Root Directory)
and
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND or WINDOWS\11:04 PM 10/19/99SYSTEM, or just WINDOWS
 

For the case that you don’t have MOUSE.SYS, I added it to the Zip-file !
 

5.) Load the file AUTOEXEC.BAT from your A: drive to the Windows Editor.

6.) Edit the lines in the AUTOEXEC.BAT as shown below:



LH A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:NECCD /M:10
KEYB GR,,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYBOARD.SYS
C:\
CD DYNAMIX\AODCD
AOD


This part may look different regarding to the language you use. Leave it unchanged!
This part may look different regarding to the type of your CD-ROM. Leave it unchanged !
 

7. Delete all other lines in the AUTOEXEC.BAT and save it.
 
 
 

8.) Load the file CONFIG.SYS from your A: drive to the Windows Editor.

9.) Edit the lines in the CONFIG.SYS as shown below:



COUNTRY=049,850,COUNTRY.SYS
DEVICEHIGH=C:\NECCDR\NECATAPI.SYS /D:NECCD
DEVICEHIGH=A:\MOUSE.SYS

This part may look different regarding to the language you use. Leave it unchanged!
This part may look different regarding to the type of your CD-ROM. Leave it unchanged !

10.) Delete all other lines in the CONFIG.SYS and save it.

That’s it !

11.) Exit Windows and reboot your PC with the floppy in drive A:\
