Do you have any interesting images or ideas for a new UBoat emblem?

I thought we might like to have a place to post any images or ideas for a new UBoat emblem. If you have an idea and there are no immediate images to be found online or anywhere else then describe your design here and maybe someone may design it for us? There are many talented folk in here and i'm sure some of them would be glad to assist us.
I look forward to some of your images/and or ideas.

I found this one earlier which kind of looks interesting,it features the wolfsangel rune set onto the head of a wolf.Simple?,yes, appropriate,I would think so.I seem to recall the wolfsangel was used by the SS Werewolves after the war ended,as a last ditch attempt to try and stall and hinder the allied occupation of our glorious fatherland.Maybe it could be used on your last patrol in May 1945?

Cheers.

Default Day of the wolf!

Here are a few other ideas for all the Atlantic Wolves out there

This one is just TOO good to ignore! edit this into black and white and you have a winner!

I like the wolf head a lot but would prefer the crest to be square or shield like

Similar to the GWX loading screen?

This has a good UBoat 'feel' to it,do you agree?

Not bad,but not nearly as agressive looking enough as most of you would prefer, right?

Now you just KNOW he means business! watch out you allied fools, this dog is gonna tear you a new one!

What do you think folks, some pretty good wolf heads there isnt there? ,at least they are something to base your ideas on,maybe you could add some text to them?

NOTE - sorry about the post length with all the images, not a lot I could do about it really.

According to this document:

http://amp.rokket.biz/docs/snorting_bull_decals_4.pdf

Prien got his emblem the Snorting bull after:

1. a major success in infiltrating Scapa Flow
2. a joke about bull fighting

and

3. the emblem reminded about a comic strip figure the crew liked
4. the emblem reminded about the character of the commander

I don't have an idea for a good emblem, but I do think a good emblem would tell a story about the boat's successes, be positive and remind of the humorous side of things, would be liked by the crew and would be a metaphor of the boat's commander. So, developing a new emblem would envolve some role play elements as the game has no interaction between the crew and the player.

I dont honestly think I could have described that any better

My $0.02: I prefer emblems that look like they were drawn by the crewmen. While I suppose there were some artists in the Kriegsmarine, the majority of the emblems I've seen have a wonderfully rough quality about them that suits both the spartan conditions of the boats and the mission tasked to them.

This said, I'd love to see a Mjollnir (hammer of Thor) emblem, or perhaps Gungnir (Odin's spear). Perhaps something written in old Norse runes, or I suppose a single rune would work.

For those familiar with Norse mythology, the Valkyrie would be the ideal emblem. Valkyries were Odin's handmaidens, tasked with choosing the warriors slain on the battlefield to join the einherjar.

Personally, I'd love to see a lighthearted emblem of a voluptuous woman with long flowing hair, holding a shining spear while riding an enormously fat horse, a'la Bugs Bunny.

I'm a keen adept on Norse mythology and runes

Jormungandr,or the world serpent during Ragnarok would be good,in fact any serpent from the deep.

Ok, so this is a bit crass and bawdy, but the image popped into my head while looking at the emblems thread. How about a coarse drawing of Winston Churchill receiving a torpedo in his... er.... "aft quarters"?

How about Hitler in Bermuda shorts, surfing a torpedo?

Ok, so neither would probably go over well with the BdU...
