As you know during the course of a typical patrol we recieve quite a lot of radio reports and some of the more important ones will include map co-ordinates detailing where the event took place, such as a sinking. Now some of you may know how to read these and some don't,I myself don't if I were to be honest.I do know that they are based on the meridian line,is that the blue vertical line on the nav map?
So,I will give you an example of a co-ord I recieved on my last patrol, and if you could briefly describe how to read and plot this on the map that would be great. Long 10 degrees 09' E , Lat 54 degrees 20' N , heading 89 degrees Many thanks ![]()
