Hi all I'm thinking of starting a campaign with realistic Silent Hunter 3 and I would like to know which is really what differentiates NGYM MOD Mods Super Tonnage other as GWX, WAC, LSH3. Is it so hard and realistic as we talk about it? What would be missing? Thank you so much

I run GWX exclusively so I'm no help. So as not to see your thread buried I posted.
I have to admit I thought you would've had alot of replies. Good luck mate and give us a short report how they play out. ![]() |

I got tired of asking this question myself, so I decided to play NYGM...
this is what I've come up with: Enemy sensors and AI seem more realistic in NYGM... You don't get renown/spend renown in NYGM, you accrue tonnage The fatigue model is different, much more realistic in many ways The qualification model is pretty different, also NYGM changes the percentages on the "realism" settings, allowing you to play at "100%" with weapons officer help, steady peri, map contacts, all of the things that you would have on the boat (germans had a stadimeter that didn't rely on the peri sitting still...) and they tell me there are many more things about it that are changed, but they didn't release a comprehensive book like GWX I personally play NYGM waaay more than GWX now that I've tried it, but that might just be a personal thing :P

I would not say one is more realistic than the other one. We have to keep in mind that there are a lot of limitations given by the hard-coded game parts and we all have different preferences.
What I would say is: - One is more challenging than the other one - One has more eye candy than the other one - One has a very nicely done historically correct campaign, that means if you sail at a special day in the right grid, you'll see the action there All of them are masterpieces! HDD is not that expensive today and it is not a big deal to have a couple of installations at the same time. I have four different and a self-made one at the moment. Try them out! |
