RIP Alfons Kruppa
November 1943 and U129 and its Kaleun, Alfons Kruppa perished close to the Gibraltar Straits... Attacked and damaged by air, U129 could not escape its fate when attacked at night by 3 Tommie destroyers. After 7 hours of hide and seek, U129 flooded at 215m depth and took its crew to their watery graves, after sinking 520,000 tons of shipping from September 1939 onwards....
