Default I found a fix to a U.S. navy problem!

I read about the anechoic tiles coming of U.S.S. Virginia and how they're looking for a fix.
http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/hts.../20100922.aspx

The Australian Navy has the fix! What does it use use for it's anechoic tiles of the Collin's class subs? A commercial adhesive normally used to fix cat's eyes to road surfaces!

Probably they only thing that has worked as designed on the sub's!

Have Australian Navy set aside money, for this type of investment, but it looks good

Sometimes government departments fail to see the wood for the trees.

Get in touch with them and do a trade....ask them their fix for finding enough crew to man their vessels

The RN are close to a fix of their own.....de-commission the fleet

Aye, especially when you consider it was the largest in the world less than a century ago

At the current rate, we'll end up with 2 new carriers and very few frigates/destroyers

They'll probably blame the cancellation of the carriers on a lack of escorts

There is a fix for the crewing issues, it's called a downturn in the mining industry. They keep taking sub crews as they have many of the same engineering skill they need. With bigger pay packets and more chance to see your family, it's hard to compete.
They have hired ex-USN and ex-RN submariners to help fill the gaps. If they keep getting rid of subs in the UK, that may help ease the problem!

I know the situation (having met TJ) but isn't it a bit ironic....the mines in the UK have all but gone and the skilled engineers went (in some instances) into the armed forces
