Is there a mod that adds the TDC dials to the periscope screen?
During many attacks I often think, wouldnt it be great if I could update all torpedo data while still being able to look through the periscope, thereby increasing efficiency.I am sure there will be a mod out there and I was hoping someone could direct me to it? naturally this must be compatible with GWX3 and ideally the latest version of the mod.

I think so, because Sailor Steve recently posted a link to an old thread where he'd posted screenies of his setup at that time and I'm pretty sure one of them was of the periscope screen with the TDC dials arrayed across the top.
If so someone will no doubt be along shortly to enlighten us. ![]() |

Yes, the Hitman Optics does this, but it also reduces the periscope magnification from 10X to 6X.

There are a few.
I heartily recommend this one http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...light=reloaded Not only is it a beautifully made GUI, H.Sie has also included a few optional mods to go with it that he has made compatible. eg. depth charge shake longer repair times seafloor repair and more |

Lots of interfaces put the torp. controls at the periscope station, but they all alter other aspects of the game, so finding one that fits can be a bit of a hunt.
OLC-gold and Manos GUI, also have tools that let you visually calculate range, speed and A.O.B. They look similar but work differently in some key ways. I haven't tried Raptors interface yet (I'm pretty happy with Manos)but it looks interesting too.

Ideally I want something that doesnt alter anything else other than having the dials conveniently placed on the PS screen. Its a shame that most of these mods (and they look good) alter other aspects of the game.
I must say Hitman's looks like just what i'm after, although he has changed other settings also?. Thanks!

Sorry Paul, I didn't realise you were after something that changes only the torpedo dials.
As you have found, Hitman's Optics is probably your best bet. EDIT: What else does Hitman's change that you do not want? It may be relatively easy to change back. |

sergei,
I am assuming the following link is the correct mod I will need? .And before I install it is there anything else I need to know, such as special preparations or requirements I may need?,because it doesnt look like Hitman gave too much info away on his download screen. There may be a readme inside the download itself. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1519

Yep, that's the one Paul.
I've just downloaded it and had a quick look at the files and readme. It's good to go, just JSGME it. And looking at it, it seems as if all that has been changed is the dials in the periscope, obscope and UZO. It doesn't change the rest of the GUI at all. In fact I might give this a go. I reinstalled GWX a few days ago, and there is definitely something to be said for keeping the main GUI the way it is .It is well thought out and easy to use. |

I just read the readme sergei, sounds fantastic! easy to use,and nicely designed. The only thing that I am curious about is the part about the recognition manual opening every time you unlock the scope, this is for users with the high res fix, which I happen to have.
Either way,I will DEFINITELY be using this on my next patrol,as I am in the middle of a patrol at the moment, and I dont want to potentially cripple anything. Anyway, nice talking to you,and a salute for Hitman! ![]()
