Default CTD! All carrer saves corrupted? WTH!

It is patrol i did play almost a week and i had 10 saves. Today i loaded 10th save it came to the screen "not so long ago..." then error caused kernel.dll.

I did load save number 9 and same error! Then i did restart may computer and tried again - same error! All saves are lost!? WTH! How i can restore that, half a week patrol lost?

I did change nothing on computer, installed nothing, just turned it on today and thats it...Only mod is gwx 2.0.

I lost save 10, that is nothing, i saved that after failed attack of convoy but i really don't want lose save 9.

I will do complete reinstall, did back up save games...

Ah yes, the corrupted save bug.

Did you save while near land, submerged, or near other ships?

According to many people, those are a big no, no.

Hate to say it, but I don't think you can do much except start a new career.

I've been extremely lucky so far-I've broken all of those rules(sometimes all at once) and have never had a problem. Unfortuneately, it does exist and many people have encountered it.

Did save 9 load OK before you created save 10? As mentioned earlier in another thread on the same subject, you must verify that each save you make loads OK otherwise if that save was corrupt all susequent saves will be corrupt too. I know you don't want to lose save 9 but you might have to go back to a save that does load OK.

I try. I guess yes cause i do load and save often but i'm not sure. Once i reinstalled game i try. I did backups so i wont lose saves. i can't believe it can destroy all 10 saves...

Anyway, i learn it that i must do backup after every end of patrols cause i cannot afford too much deja vu's

When I want to save, firstly I look at the map for any obvious problems i.e. distance from land, sunken ships etc. Then I dive to 40-50 meters and do a thorough, manual hydrophone scan with the volume right up. Provided that is clear I surface fully, go to F2 view and then hit Esc and then save using a unique save name different to anything I've used previously. I then hit Save and Exit and create a second save so the first is a backup.

I'm normally ok with this procedure but every so often, I do still get a corrupt save due to unknown causes and I have to roll back to a previous one. It's rare though.

Also, once I've completed a patrol, I go into my SH3 documents folder and delete the numbered patrol save folders up to the previous patrol, so at the most I only have one previous patrol and my current patrol save folders present in my documents.

And ALWAYS, ALWAYS, roll back SH3Commander before installing new mods, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, while you're in port.

You can delete previous patrol saves without affecting your career? Interesting...
