Default [WIP] S-100 Schnellboot (S-Boot)

Just some WIP shots of my S-100 Schnellboot.

Will take some time before its finished. As stated in another thread, I'm still waiting on some plans I bought.

The whole hull is just a placeholder - I'll replace it once I get my hands on the drawings.

Will keep you up to date!

Cheers
Chris

Hm, now that the interior and exterior models in SHV are one, I could really see a very cool playable Schnellboot mod coming down the pipe sometime where you could really play captain on deck. Had a blast with Mikhayl's Schnellboot in SHIII.

Keep at it!

Very nice work!

Now to get an importer working!
The Granny files are a PITA to say the very lest!

How this Game can be considered very moddable without
an import funtion for new Units is beyound me!

And we all know they have the software!

!

We need lots of new ships big and small, from fishing boats and land-based artillery to destroyers, and this is a great first step.

+1 I was kind of disapointed with the lack of craft in this edition.

As I have no idea of how to get this thing into the game, I surely hope someone will have mercy and is going to help me. Although this is still some time away...

Researching all the weapons will be a pain - not to mention the wheelhouse.
Maybe I'm going to pass on this. Should be possible to use speaking tubes only.
Hell - it's even prototypical

Some nice ideas for the future (not that I know what I'm talking about):

  • ability to lay mines (as a mission)
  • deploy smoke screens (no idea if the AI can be affected by something like this)
  • command multiple boots via some simple command menu
  • water bombs for attacking subs (ok, a nice british corvette would come handy here instead of such a vessel)
  • search and rescue missions of downed pilots
  • *sigh*
Time will tell...

Cheers

There's only one way to get new Units in Game so far.
And that is if the Dev's do it.

There are a good number of us working at Imports.
But one of the BIGGEST things hindering us?

The Granny files!
Those are and have been a Nightmare to many Game Modders for
quit a long time now.

I understand why Ubi went with Granny.
It's a fantastic Dev and Game system!

But to make a highly Moddable Game,
as was claimed?
Why deny us the ability to import new Units right from the get go?

Maybe there is a seperate License fee from RAD Games
to give us that feature.

And Ubi wants to make money before releaseing a tool add-on like that?

Would be nice someday to see it in game, playable or not.

Of course, how else could they charge us for DLC when great modders can make more and better ones for free.

Ding, Ding, Ding!!

BINGO!

...Thus the REAL reason for the DRM/OSP. Ubisoft likely considers any modder who creates free add-on units as a threat to thier income stream, and thus no better to their bottom line (add-on sales) than pirates.

Do not hold your breath for a Granny importer coming from Ubi anytime soon,...if ever.
