Default What is with the Finish convoy off Bermuda in 1942

I am in the glorious days of Pauchenschlag and on my way to resupply from U-461 SE of Bermuda I ran into a Finish convoy headed west (towards the USA).
It had two escorts sailing ship looking craft with a deck gun, 2 tankers and a freighter.
This is a GWX3.0 Gold set up and I certainly never added this to my RND or SCR.mis files

Just makes no sense to me

Hi Wulfmann,

look for Finnish traffic 1/2/3/6 in the GWX Rnd campaign file. They are not deleted on the last waypoint and just continue straight on from their last waypoint. Maybe you found one of them

I think Bigboywooly has fixed it in his new release:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=164252

Another fix (stock GWX Rnd) can be found here:

Cheers, LGN1

What's the matter....you not like Finns...?
I know Churchill declared war on Finland. Not sure if the US did it.
Anyway, they're your Allies...

Hey! Finnish people like pineapples and nude beaches too! Didja ever think of that?

What's the big deal? Can't Finnish people in SH3 enjoy themselves without such scrutiny? Hmmmm?????

Waitaminit!

What do you mean that "there are no people in SH3!"

I just need a reasonable (emphases on reasonable) explanation how 3 large Finnish vessels and two, what looks like coastal sailing ships with a gun, slipped out into the Atlantic past British patrols and if that is not remarkable why would an ally of Germany be heading for an enemy of Germany and all at a slow speed so as to make easy targets??????

I spotted them SW of Britain before and wondered but I never saw them so far west.
At least they are smart enough to sail that no man zone where few if any allied vessels ply the waters

While not entirely reasonable I think I have an awnser! What you found was the secret Finnish invasion fleet, but it is a seecret so don't tell anyone you konw. Eather that or you stumbled across the Finnish U-boat fleet, heavy on the "boat" but aperantly they forgot the "U" part entierly. In eather event they managed to slip the Allied net by being very sneekey, the Finns are famous for being sneekey you know.

I am sure as they approach the American coast the US Navy will Finnish them off!!

Of course if the ships are being crewed by the Finnish college girls nude sun bathing team the US Navy will surrender to them if the terms are right!!

But, if they are crewed by the men all nude sunbathing team and hope to surrender to the US Navy they had better alter course for the New York area where some certain naval commander and future congressman will gladly accommodate them in his personal quarters.

Sorry Wulfmann... Didn't mean to crash your thread.

Finish convoy near Bermuda is "Greek" to me. (No pun intended.)

Are you using any non-default GWX campaign files from another mod perchance?

Nope KL, the Finnish convoy is pure GWX3.

The only things I mod are adding escorts to convoys and changing the escorts to be either 2 or 3 or naming the 4 to avoid fleet DDs from showing up as convoy escorts (I also make all AS min #3 rated crews).
I added ships to the RND for Pauchenschlag based on the book but the last thing i would do is add a German allied convoy to the mid Atlantic.

I've noticed exactly the same small convoy I think. I've also seen similar ones in the bay of biscay just sat there not moving.

Hey, leave 'em be.

so it wasn't just me halluzinating?!

poor Finnish fellows, though.
just two small escort tug-boats protecting three merchs and sitting around in BE86, they eventually were a nice prey for any allied plane or war-ship.
