Gents, I again slog through the hours of downloading associated with a computer change and a reinstall of SH3/GWx3/SH3Cdr... Hopefully within 45 min of setting out to sea again with hopes of high tonnage

Well, I'm not sure if maybe I turned on a "realistic sound" mod or something (I turned on a few mods with JSMGE after I got GWX3 installed), but I notice that my torpedo impact sound sounds terrible, like someone dropped a plate of glass or something. I liked the old sound track from Das Boot for torpedo impacts (cheering, etc.).

Jim,
I just got the real DC sound mod,and tested it.It sounds good but a little short.Does this sound play alongside other sounds during a DC attack to give more depth to the sounds,or does the attack sequence just play this sound of 5 secs on its own?.Also,is this sound actually heard from the control room or from the hydros,or both? Cheers.
