I partly agree.
I find that some of the stuff I read herec encourages me to learn more about different subjects. Quite often reading through general topics sends me of in googling frenzy.

You can't help but learn a thing or two an any part of life, here included.
I do have a complaint however - That 'everyone is an idiot' selection is tantamount to having a button marked 'Do Not Push!' in a poll, so that is an almost not fair to put that thing up there!!!  I managed to resist the temptation (barely) and select the proper answer however of 'I learn a thing or two'. Please do not tempt me again! That is being very bad to do that to us people who like to argue once in a while!-S
