Default I usually dont whine ...

... but for once I have to write a complaint.

The complaint is directed at the pilots of a Sunderland that patrolled the harbour of Reykjavik in early 1942. This complaint is directed at Sunderland pilots who fly in GWX, by the way.

Dear pilots, I was having my most pulse-racing SH3 patrol yet, dodging destroyers to the left and right in shallow waters, and finally getting into the harbour.

There I sunk 1 Destroyer, 1 Liberty Cargo and 1 Medium Merchant.

My crew went wild and we all looked foreward to the champagne and prostitutes back in Brest.

So why did you guys in the Sunderland find it acceptable to crash into my conning tower when I finally got out of the blasted harbour?

My last savegame was conveniently "in base before mission".

RIP, U-581.

So is this a thumbs up for GWX or a thumbs down? I'm pretty sure that that kind of random event didn't happen much. But then again thats just so freaking sweet.

I can see how hard it was to make GWX. All these decisions, all this balancing.

Maybe you should remove that banner on the conning tower that says "This is where the party is!"

I actually jumped out of the chair and put my face down in a pillow. This was the last part of my best patrol yet, I had no torpedoes left, no deckgun ammo, and was very low on flak ammo. An eventful patrol indeed.

Damn you Sunderland! DAMN YOU!

(By the way, this is no thumbs down to GWX, I cant remember having this much fun with SH3 since it first came out, heck, I dont even make movies anymore, I just play!)

One has to ask: Why did you not dive to avoid the Pig-on-the-wing?

Damnit, didnt want that question. :rotfl:

Okay, my oxygen was in the red, I had just surfaced after a long haul underwater at 2 knots. I saw the plane early, manuvered so my sub was as small as possible, considered diving, but thought: "Its a Sunderland, how dangerous could it be?"

In short: I got greedy.

Oh, I see ...

I forgot to mention my flak gunners DID put some bullets in the Sunderland, but its a flying boat, so they could have landed somewhere else. Very cheeky of them.

Maybe they were just attempting to land to give the bullets back and the pilot got so distracted by your conning tower emblem that he just misjudged a tad on the landing?

I've had planes ruin my day before on the homebound leg of a great patrol. It's never fun...well actually it is after I'm done swearing and/or crying. Much better than the stock aircraft which I used to just stand on the bridge making rude gestures towards knowing they couldn't do much more than throw harsh language my way.
