If you say so.. i had read this in Wikipedia: "changing the designation to FS-344.[7] The ship, commissioned at New Orleans on 7 April 1945, served as a Coast Guard–manned Army vessel used for training civilians for the Army. Her first commanding officer was Lt. J. R. Choate, USCGR, succeeded by ...." Sorry, had reread the info, it is a pre-ww1 engine, so probably not mounted on a ww1 fighter at all.

Not german, though all those rotary engines are somehow related to the initial german Oberursel "Gnom" and "Stahlherz" ones.
