Oh man that is topic that is taught in naval academy. It's basically a trig calculator. You need two basic pieces of information...

The target ships AOB

And

The target ship speed

The range is to time impact.

Thank you for the help, but I wanted to calculate with:
RAOFB wheel in. ^^
How it's can be?
Because I use 1 mod with in I have those wheels, but I cant aim with that, because what i found tutorial about that, where those wheels are different than mine.

First pic: My periscope( i cant calculate with this)
Second pic: The picture from the tutorial video.
And when i tried to calculate ,that wasnt hit the ship :'(

That wheel can be used to calculate AOB, and range. It does have a learning curve. MaGUI developed one for his periscope mod. If you look in his files there are manuals. There is too much info for me to explain it quickly, I've learned to use it over the years and now it comes to me naturally.

I only use it to find AOB at strange angles. I always use the 90deg attack method

i am not familiar with that mod, in maGUI you have to use 12x zoom for your calc to be correct, if you do not use a certain zoom, it can throw your math off. Again I dont know much about anherbes mods.

Most problems are the zoom. If you are in the wrong zoom, you will always have problems. that is just how that wheel works. sorry.

Use the same method, each tick is 1. If your calculations are incorrect, try multiplying the mast height x2. So if the ship's mast height is 20.9 degrees, line up, read the range at 41.8 mast height. Maybe that will help. Some mods I have found require you to use x2, while others like OLC have already updated the recognition manuals to include x2 mast height already.

Let us know if that works.

It's easier to experiment with distances that you know, like in the Torpedo training mission.

Or is it working for you now?

1) Identify target, bring up the ships identification page on the GUI

2) Do your speed calc

3) Zoom in to 12x,line up the horizontal line with hull of ship. Note: if you use 6x you have to double your numbers and could get confusing.

Simply count vertical ticks to top of ship mast and place this number (inner numbers closest to the cross hairs on the middle movable ring) on the 90 degree mark that is located on the inner most fixed ring.

Read up the ship mast height from the identification book, find this number on outer most fixed ring and the outer middle ring number is the range!

4) Now the AOB! Slide the range number you found, to the length of the ship (found in identification book) by clicking and dragging the middle ring(range) and lining the range number to the ship length(outer fixed ring).

Now, count horizontal marks, I just count from the crosshairs out to the bow of the ship and multiply by 2, or if you prefer count marks from bow to stern your choice.

Take this number, find it on the inner numbers of the middle movable ring(do not move the middle ring!!!) and wherever the number is, read the inner fixed ring...

That is your AOB!

It's learning curve. I'm not good with pictures. If anyone wants to post pictures with this be my guest.

I suggest practicing at the naval academy many times. The ship that is in front of you and is not moving at the academy is around 780 meters with an AOB of around 33. Practice lining up your rings to get these numbers. That's how I got good at it. Before you know it you will be a pro.

I see you play with LSH and Ahnenerbe WideGui 1920 x 1080 mod, but how? If i activate them, My carrier spawnpoint always wrong, I always spawned near Africa. Why?

Hi szolnok95,

No idea why that would happen. Were you at sea when you activated Ahnenerbe's mod? Were you at port or did you start with a new career? Did you try running through any of the tutorials or single missions to confirm the mod was working properly?

Also, are you using un-modded LSH2015? Or did you add any mods after?

You may also try adding a post to the LSH mod thread or Ahnenerbe mod thread. I actually know very little about the LSH mod's technical stuff, because it all just worked and I didn't have to do any digging. Ahnenerbe's mod, I did a little digging on to change a few things, but I didn't see anything in the mod that would affect ship location.

My mod list for LSH2015:

_LSH3-2015_ATM_BlueWater-SunFix
_LSH3-2015_SLS_SpecialEffectsBig
_LSH3-2015_HistoricalMessages
