Default tWoS Enigma

Hi all!

I have just received a message from the BdU. (It is the first day of September, 1939) In September we must use the "keyword" TEICH. Now, my first two word is EQVI and NXVG. According to the Doppelbuchstaben tauschtafel EQ = WT VI=LD NX=PK VG=IW So, my first "word" is WLPI. First letter goes to the trash, remains LPI.

And here comes the problem: According to the Gruppenliste (which we can find in the Kenngruppenbuch) LPI equals 313. The number 313 belongs to the keyword POTSDAM, while in 1939 the only keyword i can choice is HYDRA.

Is it possible, that the message was sent to an other U-boot?

Hi Tiberius
You must check when the message was sent (August 31) and August is "Strom" and your first "word" will be "HAI"--->247---->Hydra.
Remember, it's not important when you received it, but it's important when it was sent

Yeah, I got that. And pretty sure I got all the other stuff right. But when I decoded it, it seemed to be gibberish?

Ahh! I figured out how I screwed up the decoding on that note!

In the Strom table for the two character set VG I had written down IG, but that is incorrect. It is IQ!

Got in too big a rush after reading the documentation to get my first message decoded . . .

Makes sense! (except for those last two groups, which are puzzling)
Anybody know what is up with the HSXG and the SCJX groups? It all seems to decode properly except those just seem like garble?
