Does your graphics card support either 1366x768 or 1360x768. If not, you can use a utility like PowerStrip to add it. For Ws mod to work, both the graphics card and the monitor must be able to handle the resolution you select in d3d9.ini. As long as it is less than maximum monitor res, the only problem should be distortion. But CTDs usually mean you are selecting a res your graphics card is not set up to support.

The graphics card supports those settings. I will try the utility you mentioned. Thanks for the reply.

Since the graphics card supports the two resolutions, the utility probably won't be any help. All I have left is the old mantra: Update your drivers. Update DirectX.

BTW: how much memory do you have? And are you using the 4GB patch? I don't mean to challenge your competence here. I'm just grasping at straws.

After hours of trying I can finaly use this Mod!

Saw on another Forum that 'Starforce Protection' can cause mods not to work. And up and untill today I actualy had to endure that anoying "protection". Uninstalled SH3, used the Starforce removal tool, re-installed SH3 without 'Starfoce' "protection", installed SWX3 and this mod and it worked and no more DVD-check: just start and play!

This is a nice mod and I like it.

Just two things:-
1. the video quality is poorer than it was on the same settings as without the mod, for examlpe the insignia of the crew are very 'jagged' with uneven edges, and
2. on the right bottom corner the part of the interface where you set the time compression and see the time, is off the screen: is this supposed to be like that, and if not is it possible to fix it? I allready tried by setting the screen resolution to other values, but to no avail.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like your problem is overscan, which is a monitor issue. (Check here for an explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overscan, http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/27/h...all-tvs-do-it/ for more details.) Most HDTVs overscan by default, most PC monitors do not. Almost (almost!) all HDTVs and monitors can be set to eliminate overscan and show the full image. It's easy to do. You just change a setting on the TV/monitor's set-up menu. The catch is that every manufacturer calls it something different - usually not overscan! - and you have to make an educated guess as to which setting you want to change. Some names used are: "1:1 pixel mapping", "Screen Fit", "Dot-by-dot". YMMV. The setting should be binary - on or off - not an adjustable parameter. Find it, change it, and you're good to go.

Good luck.

Default Back to SH3 after....many years

Hi guys,

Always noticed that there were at least as much people around SH3 mods as at SH5 mods forum.
Decided what kept people here and am very impressed by the LSH 2015 mod.

Install flawless, plays great exept....for my resolution.

I would like to play at 2560x1600 wiith my monitor, but so far no luck.

I used the wide screen mods, but they do not support that high res.

I tried manually editing the cfg file, but got minimized screen against black background.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Trebb.

Had CTD issues after trying 2 diff. Mods for WideScreen
(Conus' SH3GWXWS 2.3 & this one)
This one worked on the 1360 x 768 and Conus would work on my laptop at 1366x768.

Has anyone been able to use the large Enhanced Navigation Compass in WideScreen Mod ? Should show as standard in GWX3.0 .......... I can't get it to show
