Default [REL] EAX sound simulation

You all know the effect that a distant sound, well, sounds different.
the original game had only the volume toned down for distant sounds
but with this mod you get a change in sound for anything that
happens far away, like explosions, gunfire or even airplanes.
the sound library was rewritten to support additional sounds
at different distances.
not only that, all events that might be heard underwater
where also made audible and changed a little bit due to overlapping
sound waves when heard underwater.

the sounds i used (and modified) are mainly based on pouls sound mod.
version for stock, FOTRSU, GFO, TMO 2.5, RFB2, OM/OMEGU (with or without Websters Maneuver or SonarTargetFix)

--> do not use with TMO2.5 BH update 2.0, it's already included <--

** if you have different smoke mod, install the smoke mod last **

** if you have compatibility probs with other mods try FOTRSU version **

--> If you have SClass Full Interior/Officers Quarters installed, activate EAX last! <--

updated 21.07.22: supports latest FOTRSU 1.8 and Fleetboat Interior/S-Class full interior,
fixed some sounds cut out too early, fixed Narwhal deck gun

updated 12.08.22: fixed water splashes

(mod is backwards-compatible for older versions)

Dowloading now, looking forward to try it. I'm using RFB 1.52, but as I understand it the only difference is that custom sounds from RFB will be replaced with these, i.e. what the crew says might vary slightly but no other big changes?

RFB is not supported, you can try but some of
their sounds will not play.
maybe i do a RFB version if the RFB team has nothing
against it

Oh yes please do it, I think most people nowadays are either using TM or RFB, and since the stock game version is already available, nobody will complain anyway.

Since this work adds realism, I bet that the RFB guys will like to incorporate it, or at least will give their official blessing to it

No, not yet, I wanted to ensure the compatibility first, but I will give it a try. I tested it in my install of standard SH4 and so far in my quick test I like it much

Update (With RFB 1.52): There seems to be something wrong with the deck gun sound I don't hear correctly the gun firing and the explosion when hitting.

The only other observationI have for now is that while the submarine sounds are great, they are so loud that appreciating the work done on aircraft and other units becomes much more difficult. Otherwise, GREAT soundpack, and a must addition

does this also apply to stock and TMO?
which sub sounds do you mean?

as i said it's not really compatible, the RFB sounds are not included and are not in the library.

Only tested stock; the sounds on it are correct. It's just RFB what doesn't work: The deck gun sound and explosions dissapear.

The ambient sounds in the submarine, and the diesels at iddle and when running. They sound awesome with your mod, much better even than in original RFB, but just too loud.

I know, I know. I just wanted to confirm you the effects it caused.

Again, please make the mod for RFB, it would be AWESOME

i didn't include any sub interior or diesel sounds
they could be set too loud in the library, depending
on which sound you already have..
