Hi aimg

Yes, I have noticed that this is a regular occurrence and it is usually a German ship involved.

Default Is stadimeter broken

When use stadimeter to calculate ship range it gives me shorter distance that really is. (compared to manually calculated distance by ruler on nav.map)

Am I doing something wrong here?

I have somewhat experience with SH 3, SH4 and SH 5 so I am not a newbie

No, I think the position of the periscope horizontal line on the targets waterline which is not always easy to get right depending on the weather, and, your position of the stadimeter to the mast is always likely to be different than an exact measured dstance on the map.

The importance with the stadimeter is to take more than 1 measurement.

With 90 degree fast shoots the range is not important but the targets speed is.

I think with both versions of LSH (5.1 and 2015) you need to double the mast height when you do your calculation. So, if the mast height is 21 meters, you align your measurement to 42.

It was like this in LSH5. You can prove it out by having your watch officer pick out a few ships nearby in port.

Default - About tonnage.

Hi everybody,

I've just been to the refueling submarine in the middle of the Atlantic and my very good
sunken ships tonnage does not appear in the screen of the best submariners.
Is this a mistake ?

Default - Other question.

My patrol area FD73 also disappeared?
Is this logical?

Should be showing at the bottom of your screen, might be in yellow IIRC.

Disappeared from where?
Your map?
Your orders?
Not all Kriegsmarine grids show on the map at the same time.
This may depend on how the map is being scrolled.
I have noticed sometimes you have to click on the map with the mouse to show a missing block of grids.

No, it isn't shown at the bottom of my screen.

And they disappeared from my orders.

"SNIP"

About DX9 Problems:

DX10 or DX11 are NOT compatible to DX9 file versions.
To run SH3 the old/original DX9 files version is mandatory!!!

By installing older games do never disable their “old/original” DX version!
Coase; by installing older Games/DX Versions Windows analyze these files and create a compatible copy/variant of these (old) DX files into the System library.
Means; if original DX9 files not installed the SH3 installation will not work fine, especially not in WS resolution!

"SNAP"

Another Tip is to install the latest…
Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime provides updates to 9.0c and previous versions of DirectX
» https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...ylang=en&id=35

These workarounds mostly fix such problems.

That’s more or less all I can say and explain (with my limited english).

regards, Urmel

Well, Urmel, I have often suggested to install the latest version, that is version 9.29.1974.

No one ever complained after installing that one on newer OS like WIN 7 / 8. And the game often works after that.

DX 10 / 11 does not include everything that version 9.x has.

Hi aimg.

The 2 main saves that are automatic are "After Mission" and "Before Mission"

I would expect to see your tonnage appear in the Aces list immediately after you have docked.
This would be in the "After Mission" save.
You should exit the game before loading the next save "Before Mission"
When you start the game again through SH3Commander you see your next patrol area showing in it FD73.
The save screen shows the "Before Mission" save
When this is loaded you are in the office.
When you click on the map your game loads and you see again your grid patrol in the loading screen.
When the game loads and you press F8 there are two lines of orders.
These should stay with you for your whole patrol.
If these have now disappeared then you have had some sort of corruption occur.
The only course of action would be to delete the "Before Mission" save and exit to the desk top.
When you load the game again you could then have a look in the "After Mission" save and check that everything is as it should be including the Aces list.

One other thing that will cause you a problem is if you have made a save near any destroyed marks.
I would recommend not making any saves closer than 60km to any destroyed marks or coast line.
Best I can do to advise you.

Greetings,

Well got a bit of an issue but i guess it has to do with me mucking up the install of the mod so will try reinstalling when i get home(issue with ctd when starting a career despite admin and compatibility etc...nvidia card maybe that is the issue).

The question i have is

Is it possible to get english map and grid references and generally english text however with German voiceover?

In any case i do not doubt this will be a superb experience so kudos to everyone who made it possible.
