Default Patch Issued for Critical XP Vulnerability...

Given there has been a recent thread about browsers for XP systems and knowing there are not a few of us who still keep around an XP machine for legacy game play, it should be noted MS has issued a patch for an ongoing threat to XP machines akin to the takeover 'WannaCry" attacks in recent years:

Microsoft’s First Windows XP Patch in Years Is a Very Bad Sign --

If your machine is not used online, then you are not going to be affected, but it wouldn't hurt to be safe in case you did decide to go online in the future...

Here is the MS site link:

Here is the threat assessment by MS for newer systems (Win 7, etc.)

These things scare me, have you applied the patch? I use my XP online every day.

My XP machine is an old homemade model (running on a p3) and I use it only for legacy software and never connect it to the Net, so I haven't done any patching since MS dumped support for XP; I might still go ahead and patch it, just for the sake of 'completeness'...
