That is actually quite worrying if true

Just read about it in a Finnish (tabloid) paper which cited this Guardian article among French (Masks bound to France bought by US):
https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...nt-masks-tests

Classy as usual.

Not nice. I hope the EU is doing better.

The other side of that coin:

Why? Because foreign nations pay them cash. We are updating this. The President invoked the Defense Production Act against 3M to keep them from selling masks and PPE to cash-paying foreign governments.

I guess it's the evil Europeans who are actually throwing the cash around so get mad at yourselves. And why is this even a problem for you? We're told that nationalized health care is superior to ours. Seems to me you folks are no better off at all.

National healtcare doesn't necessary account for such spikes in need of various equipment as is now happening. But I guess you already understood that, at least I hope so.

Apparently it doesn't account for spikes, but why not? Taking the profit aspect out of health care should have given them plenty of funds to keep stockpiles of common equipment like masks. I keep hearing about the superiority of government run health care but judging by the death rates it certainly seems that is not the case here.

Because these things are unexpected and equipment doesn't last forever.

Which death rates? Deaths per 1M people; USA: 21, Finland: 4. Shall we talk about child mortality rates next? Life expectancy? Access to pre-emptive healthcare?

Where did you get that number?

From the CDC website:

Your map (as it says) shows new daily deaths, not the total. You can also see that the US is marked redder than Finland in that very map.

I suggest we act with reciprocity. Dräger should not deliver any ventilators to the US anymore. "Germany first." The Americnas had placed an order almost as big as the German one two weeks ago (10 thousand units).

After Canada, France and Germany, Brazil yesterday joined the chorus of accusing the Americans to pirate masks headingfor Brazil.

Should not be forgotten. And not forgiven.

Well that is very laudable but it's certainly not matched by most of your more centralized and traveled European brethren. Italy, Spain, the UK, Belgium, France and a bunch of other NHS countries all have a higher per million death rate than we do.

Senator Bernie Sanders has suspended his campaign to become US president.

The development clears the way for former vice-president Joe Biden to become the Democratic party's nominee.

Mr Sanders, 78, told his campaign staff about his decision on a conference call on Wednesday. He is expected to address his supporters online shortly.

But then it wouldn't be Trumps fault! No need to inject facts into a good party slogan.
