The game is absolutly dead in the water. So no new DLC or anything at all. It seems the devs abandond it without even releasing any official word. I dont think there Will be a cold waters 2 either...

How can it be dead when it was released as a complete product?

Julhelm, any chance of hint, snippet, bread crumb. Anything at all? On what is to become of CW. Or even an official statement from KFG as to the future of CW. I think KFG at least owe that much to everyone who enjoys and plays the game.

I completely understand. This does give us a lot of hope though.

I consider it a completed work of art, and nicely done at that. And there are the Quick Missions! It's a bit more work, but very flexible for those interested in
spending time with the game. It's a new challenge every day. What do I want to do today? And the art-work is great with generally good pacing for a game.

Those 'old' boats are hard, for a reason. There is a reason MK-48's were needed badly. Try to understand that, before going back to a WW2 game. There is DeepWaters, and U-Boat is almost ready too. Nobody does a good sim for more 'modern' sub warfare. I wonder why? Autonomous vehicles anyone? Maybe a side dish of Posiedon torpedos (non-reloadable, of course - what's going to be left?)

For new stuff, I'm thinking more of an underwater Civ-6 type game, with subs (as boats of course). Let's terraform this planet first and get submerged. If you're already 30 ft down and good to 100", whats another 20" of sea level rise anyway.

I'm interesting this question - answer was like this: this in unpatriotic for USA and western countryes, so Soviet submarines and weapons more modern then western. In it reason game can not sell in USA and NATO countries and can not made profit for Ubisoft Romania. I himself wrote in Ubisoft Romania about question made Silent Hunter in 1950s and later. With game scenario like: in 1953 year USA receive start war against USSR and China with hope win Korean war. And after it US navy attack Soviet and China land and ships. Game for USSR and USA navyes. During game for interesting for US navy submarine is so USSR capturing Europe and have base in France before 1956 year. USSR capturnig Iceland, Norway and Spitzbergen (for US submarine compain against USSR in Atlantic) and USSR capturing Alaska (for US submarine compaign againt in Pacific) and US navy blocade China from sea and defend Taiwan. And more with increase war with Cuba in 1962 year, Vietnam 1968 year. War ended in 1979 or 1989 year.
But it is not interesting, so soviet submarines best then western (and USA) submarines. But made not real fiction good US submarines not interesting like, so it is would be not submarine simulator realistic.

In 1953 Soviet Fleet was far behind USN, so your scenario would be completly unrealistic - this is probably reason of rejection :P

Real modernisation was made by Adm. S. Gorshkov in 70's

Yes - I know about... but if realistic so game can made for USSR submarine only. In Pacific US submarine can Okhotsk sea, japan sea and communication between Vladivistok and Kamchatka and Kuriles. It is would not interesting game for US submarines. USSR bottom sonars near bases and in chains... Not real for US navy. It is about start in 1953 year.
And Soviet submarines have more modern then US diesel submarines. Surface fleet - yes - far behind US navy, but subs project 611 and 613 was more modern then US submarines.
In Atlantic US submarines have not Soviet communications like in 1953 year. So game for Soviet submarines only.
When I say, so understand position Ubisoft Romania about main market for game is USA and western Europe. And undestarnd, that no one in USA or EU bying game for Soviet side only.
