Default ACHTUNG! ACHTUNG! Con-tower fix is done!

Uboat Conning Tower fix is done! All, from the II's to the Nines's
before:

after:

I tested these files and believe their ready for release. Just fixing
the disappearing problem was the main trust of my motivation.
You wish to try just installing the *.dat files only so you can preserve
any of you changes in the .sim files or what have you. But I would
encourage you to install them all first (after backing up yours of course)
then you could see first hand if installing the .dat files only would
work.
I am aware of the video horse power required in SH4. So I attempted to
make changes in the model and UV mapping as I saw fit. In hope of
enabling a more efficient rendering of them. But as I
proceeded I became aware or the poor modeling and texture mapping that
was so pervasive (and typical in SH3 and SH4). I felt compelled to
address some of the most glaring issues first. As one with pretty good
modeling skill I learned early on the most common errors that effect
3d simulations like Sh3-4 are the over use of mapping, ie. too many
separate texture files and to put it mildly - UV coordinates that is
ghetto sloppy (this is endemic in new 3ds MAX users).
However this sounds to you I am in no way trying to be being harsh,
offensive or unappreciative, just direct.
Let me also say that increasing the size of the texture map is just
a testament of poor texture mapping skill, not to mention the poor
planning and overall attempt to cover the lack of skill.
This level of skill may meet a deadline perhaps but hardly reaches a
professional standard. Now at this point let me try and make what a
just said relevant to us as Sub simmers. Most are lead to believe the
problem is your computer isn't powerful enough and that may be part
true but the perspective I want you to consider is the lack of highly
optimized code with the most efficient well designed modeling has been
for too long over looked when it comes to performance. In an example I
like to refer back to a company known as D.I.D. Digital Image Design.
And if you do not remember them they were the ones that created the
flight sim known as TFX. At the time was a pioneer in optimized code.
They changed the landscape so to speak and I miss them dearly. They
enabled the computers at that time to play at new levels that were
unimagined then. I would love to see those guys in action today with
the awesome power of computers now. Just a thought.

Mean while I was thinking of perhaps a mod the could be installed on
the stock Uboat missions addon and the various other large mods.
Because there is still more stuff I am working on I will continue to
push ahead doing updates on the conning towers as I finish the
re-mapping and mesh repair.

To all

ZeeWolf has given me permission to add his work to OM V40X. I will be creating a "patch" shortly to work on top of the Beta 2 release. So please standby.

In the header of the file UnitParts12VIIB.upc is the line:
HullTextureNameOverride=
This must be set to NULL in all the .upc files that use the Turm7c_2_hd

It can be found Data\UPCDataGE\UPCUnitsData dir.

That's great meanwhile I will be playing around with some new skins that I think
you might want to include too
