Can't decide if Star Citizen is something for me.. It looks interesting indeed. It looks like an open game with neverending upgrades/patching. A game that doesn't have a final fixture, like other PC, PS4 games

If you'd be genuinely interested, instead of trolling, you could easily find an answer to your question.

No, just pointing out the absurdity of it all. Wasn't it you who assured me everything is on schedule because of roadmaps?

At that time I was assured it would be out in Q2 2020. Well it's now Q2 2022 and?

So yeah, just mocking Star Citizen.

So I did search it, and I see this

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/s...ongratulations

But that's the only thing I see saying it started. Did it?

So it seems that link I posted was just a troll, I got as far as this

"

Well, regardless of what the many "offended on behalf of" crazies in this thread seem to think I enjoyed the post, for about half a second after reading the title I thought...is it really?....then the penny dropped and with it the realisation that this was a well deserved jab at CIG's absolutely failure of a roadmap."

Roadmaps lol. They are useless except to buy more time.

So it's not out?

I know you said Dowly that I "could easily find" this info. Hard to find what doesn't exist.

No one gave you any assurances. Quit lying.

I've taken to ignore the HUD announcements since there's something constantly popping up. I try to pay more attention to them in the future.

Didnt expect to see a thread on Star Citizen here, quite the game. It's weird how they can make something so broken also be so fun at times.

Star Citizen is only worth it with a group IMO, think of it as a Sandbox game for now, you kinda have to make your own fun. Right now im in a group and we play once a week.

@McBeck: Yeah, still sticking around. Have taken a break since they still haven't done anything to trading. Might hop back in once 3.18 stabilizes.

And yeah, both you and Bernardi are right in that it can be a buggy mess, but there isn't anything like it out there. I am extremely happy with the state it is even now, no other space game scratches that itch.

Happy to see PES - even if it is a hot mess right now - finally making it into the game. Another great milestone for CIG.

Great year to come. S42 is feature complete and a significant amount of the people working on S42 are now being transitioned to SC

Trading is not in a good place. High risk, low reward.
Salvage on the other hand is fund and rewarding.
I can fly to sites where there will often be wrecks of ships and clean up and make money at the same time

They also enabled the tractor beam on ships, so ships which were released years ago all the sudden have a new feature.

The game started getting a lot of attention in December due to the video showing S42 and feature complete :

And due to the Starengine demo :

Uh, and I got to try the Pyro system...no security at all. Its a free for all!

The year is off to a flying start with static server meshing testing last weekend, which allowed players to jump between Stanton and the new Pyro system using the jump gate for the first time. Both systems were handled by a single server and the transition between the two happened seamlessly.

Very simple refresher on what server meshing is:

Traditionally, players would connect directly to a server and information would be transferred between the two.

Player <--> Server

With server meshing, another layer (literally called Replication Layer) is added into the mix that handles all the information that traditionally would be stored on the server. The RL acts almost like a backup of the state of the game world, receiving and feeding information between player clients and servers. This way the game world can be divided in to multiple areas each being handled by its own server that receives information from the RL. It also allows for players to seamlessly transfer from one area to another, switching servers without loading screens.

Player <--> Replication Layer <--> Servers

And then we have the upcoming alpha 3.23 which is hands down the biggest patch we've gotten so far in Star Citizen. Some of the larger features planned:

- New EVA system
- New Star Map (Finally!)
- Personal Hangars
- Freight Elevators (used to transfer ground vehicles, cargo etc. to a hangar for loading onto a ship)
- Distribution Centers (Large planet side complexes for various activities)
- New character creator

And a whole lot of smaller stuff.
