Support Cry files in SH4

Where are they stored on a windows 10 machine.
It’s not in the steam install folder where the apps are so it’s got to be someplace else.

Are you talking about the "cheering" when a torpedo hits?... or the "Medic!!!", etc.? Most 98% of the audio files are in the SH4 / Data / Sound folder, with the "speech" being in the numbered Speech folders, 1 through 9, with a different "voice" EQ and pitch differences for different characters. They are in ogg vorbis format. Not all "speech" is in there though. You will find a few phrases in with the wav sound effects files in the root "Sound" folder. To "remove" a sound, it is best to name a "muted" file the same name as the "target", and use a mod to overwrite the existing file(s). Finding the correct file is the problem...

Disregard.
Auto correct change CFG to cry.
I found the folder in my documents folder library. Weird place for it. Would have thought it would use app data.

They really should call that little "Auto-Correct" app something like "Auto-Change-It-To-Something-Inappropriate" instead...

ah, that figures! CFG for Cry.
so, CFG files are actually stored in Data\CFG.
some of them are them copied by the app into the Documents folder that you found.
IF you are thinking of changing one or more of them, it is a best practice to use JSGME, create a MOD folder (of the Data/CFG folder) for your changes, copy the files to the MOD folder, change the values, save the file(s) and then apply it to your installation using JSGME. that way if you screw up or don't like the change(s), you can easily back out your change(s).
