Hosting the games of IL2 never has been a bother for me, ofcourse I had my days that I rather would have done something else but I volunteered to be the host so I kept doing it with pleasure.

However unlike you guys a small thing I'm jealous off, when you are sick and tired of IL2 you can say ''Mmm..not today or tommorow I think I'll do something else for a while''

me on the other hand am stuck with the dilema, do something else or drop the waffle squadron dead out of the sky as there is no-one that can/want to be a back up host.

I say, don't quit guys.
in general, hosting IL2 games is a piece of cake, you just need to have your missions organized in the .NET folder of IL2 (Hand made campaigns in example)
if anyone of you is able to keep hosting and keep the group together I would apreciate it a lot.

this is not the end yet, I just need a change for a while.

Hmm... yea, someone else could host...

because if we stop playing for too long, the entire groupe is probably gonna fall apart... were already down to about 5 or 6 members who regulary show up.

so We need to find out who...

I know I cant... since I am stuck with a modum...

I can't either because of my firewall (maybe I should dump this bloody thing and replace it with something better....if I can find anything that is). However I'm pretty sure I won't be able to to anything campaingwise for tomorrow evening. So how about we refly the Filthy Few campaign? I think it was quiet good and it is quiet long ago since we flew it so at least I don't remember much about the missions.

I might be able to throw together a couple of missions for the beginning of the Meiktila-Mandalay campaign which I've been planning, now that I finally got decent sources for it.

...No crazy AI-waypoints this time, I promise!

So how are things? Are there some missions tonight?

There will be, I believe.

Just one question, the Japanese air power over Burma during the Irrawaddy campaign was pathetic (28 completely outmoded to moderately obsolete fighters, 10 light bombers and 8 Recon aircraft, to be precise), so would you rather I give them more planes to put up a decent fight?

These is the approximate Allied air OOB, in squadrons:

No. 221 Group -

6x Hurricane - Ground Attack
2x Hurricane - Recon
3x P-47
3x Beaufighter/Mosquito
4x Spitfire - Air Defense

No. 224 Group -

Unkown number of Fighter squadrons, offmap.

12th Bombadment Group -

4x B-25

IV Corps - 1st Air Commando Group -

2x P-47 - Patrol over Mechanized and Armoured

IV Corps - 2nd Air Commando Group -

2x P-51 - Long Range supply interdiction

I don't think it'll be quite a fair fight in any case...

EDIT: Just for comparison, this is the exact Japanese OOB down to the number of planes:

5th Hikoshidan (Air Division) -

4th Hikodan (Air Brigade) -

64th Sentai - 20x Oscar fighters

8th Sentai - 10x Lily bombers

81st Sentai - 8x Dinah recon planes

7th Rensei Hikotai (Training unit) - 8x Tony fighters

I don't get it, if we only count the free fighters (no ground attack or recce) then we have 9 fighters against 28 of them. Okay the Oscars will be easy meat for the 47s but apart from that....
Is this going to be a DCG supported campaign or entirely handmade?

Note that I said the Allied list was in squadrons, while the Japanese list is down to the invidual plane, we have a lot more planes than them.

It's hand-made, don't know enough about making DCG campaigns yet...

Er, ok. Then you should give them a few more planes I guess.

Okay, I'm quite certain at least 1 mission would be done today, most likely 2. Both of them would be sort of prequels to the main campaign (Which would start with the first large-scale crossing of the Irrawaddy) as I want to test a few things, like HSFX's infantry.
