Default Crash Dive 2 Sim Difficulty

Does anyone play this on Sim difficulty? I can barely make it to my first comm mission without being spotted and depth charged because of the 20 second diving delay. Did it really take 20 whole seconds to get everyone in the sub and close the hatches before diving? Just wondering what I'm doing wrong here.

Even traveling long distances at slower time acceleration it seems like once a plane comes into your zone at the right angle to spot you then your options are to either dive as quickly as possible and take guaranteed shots and depth charges, or try to fight off the plane with AA which takes two or three passes, so you're still taking damage.

Thanks everyone, I'm really liking the game so far

The biggest challenge in the game is the first patrol on Sim difficulty: Since you start with no upgrade funds, you don't have radar!

So play that first patrol VERY cautiously (e.g. night attacks only), make it back alive, then add air radar to your boat for the next patrol. Then you can spot planes longer before they come into range.

Hope that helps!

Thanks, I figured it would get easier if I could get some upgrades. Just wanted to see how others were going about it. I'll keep at it though. I do think it's possible, just very difficult (as it should be, obviously). Thanks for the reply, keep up the good work!
